  • Boxes

Today, I got two boxes. One contained 633 prints of England pictures. I’d like to stack them all (with the other 100 or so I have already gotten) and take a picture of my pictures to show you. The other had three books: Me and Mr. Darcy, By a Lady: Being the Adventures of an Enlightened American in Jane Austen’s England, and Eclipse. I’m so excited! Eclipse is the third part of a series I’ve been loving. The other two, you can figure out. I’ll have to give reviews to let you know if they are worth the time.  Austenland by Shannon Hale (my last read before finishing Harry Potter last night) was a good one.  It was the story of a 30 something with a crush on the Colin Firth Darcy who is willed a three-week trip to Pembrook Park, a role-playing 1816 estate in England. Is her romance real? Is she just deluding herself? It was entertaining, short, and clean!

Also, I want to go on record as saying, “I was right about the horocrux in Harry Potter!” There. Now I can sleep easy.  Did you read the final HP yet? Planning to?

    EDIT–
Here’s the picture. It’s not as impressive as I thought it would be. Boo. Still, it’s going to be a lot to scrapbook!

  • LOL  I’m reading the last book of HP right now..  I haven’t finish it yet.. LOL   What did you think you were right about the horocrux??   I have a suspicious feeling the last horocrux might be what or whom??  So far not finish.. lol

  • “Eclipse is the third book in the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer. It continues the story of 18-year-old Bella Swan and her vampire love, Edward Cullen.” Okay….tell more. Why do you like it?

  • RYC- We call him Tomo Ethaniel Shields, but legally he is Ken Uchiyama.  Ken was the name the doctor gave him and rather generic like a John Doe kind of thing.

Haven’t read the last HP yet.  Plan on it just as soon as I can get a hold of one for less than an arm and a leg ;)   Seriously, the English (yes British English-different cover) edition costs a small fortune here.  Guess I’ll have to wait… Sigh…  No spoiling it for us please!

  • Sorry, we’re not into Harry Potter. Haven’t read any books; haven’t seen any movies; don’t think we ever will. But  your other books sound interesting.

Dara was amazed to read 633 pictures!  I told her if she went to England, she’d take tons more (of course, I realize you did, too, and picked & chose what you wanted).

  • I’ve heard good things about the Twilight series and it sounds interesting… so many good books, so little time! I have not read any HP yet, but we have seen all the movies. However, we’re driving to Virginia this weekend (8+ hours, one-way) and I’m going to pick up the first two audiobooks from the library for the drive. Enjoy your new books!

  • Oh, yes, and I’d love to see a picture of the pictures… oh how I love irony.

  • I have never read any Harry Potters, or Seen any of the movies. I don’t think I will either.

  • Love all the picts so far, so bring it on!

You and Sarah!  How did you guys think of that?

Read it the first day.  I have NO self control!  Loved it!

  • I started the HP series but stopped with book three, I lost interest (I know many people might say how can you lose interest, but I did). Hey are you going to go see “Becoming Jane” this weekend? I think I’m going to go by myself. Rob would never want to see it moreover, he would never pay a babysitter for us to see a “Jane Austen” movie together. But I also want to see Hairspray; I’m debating which one would be better in the theater. (I had my morning Grande Starbucks, I’m a little wired sorry I’m this is such a long comment)

  • Oh I could have sworn I commented on your last post but I don’t see it. Rob is not going to Seminary our handyman (a guy from church) is going…you can check my blog for a correction. Sorry for the confusion, he is very happy as an actuary at USAA (it’s a really good fit for him). Plus he just got a promotion and moved to the Research and Development team, which he is, oh-so excited about. And to top it off he’s got VPN access so now he doesn’t have to go back into the office at 9 and work to 4am, he can do it from home…YEAH!!!

  • I am planning on starting Harry Potter today.  My daughter is back from Louisiana with the book and I didn’t want 2 copies so I waited for her.  Must go now……I won’t read your comments incase someone gives the story away!

  • You know, I never would have believed that there are so many Pride and Prejudice spinoffs if I didn’t know you.  That’s absolutely insane.

I don’t have any plans to read hp in the near future.  I haven’t read any of the books or seen the movies yet.  I have a very long list of books to read and hp is not included.  Personally, I just think there are too many other good books to read to spend time with hp.

  • Oh goodie, I’ll write these books onto my list!

  • Can’t wait to see the picture of your pictures.  Do you plan to scrapbook those?  Now that I have digital photos, I rarely print anything unless I plan to frame it.  I still have a big box of pictures dating from when my oldest (who is 26) was a baby!  I do have some in albums, but the bulk of them are in a big box.

  • What a lot of pictures!  Can’t wait to see your picture of pictures.

How exciting to get so many packages…we’ve hurriedly ordered some new baby gear, and are getting boxes every day now…car seat, pack and play, diaper stackers…all the things that I thought I’d be out in the stores actually shopping for!  Oh well.

So, now that you’re home…any time to relax at all before the fall/school rush begins?!?!  You are one busy lady!!

  • That looks like a whole lot of pictures to me.

  • My golly!  That stack looks to be close to 2 feet tall!

  • Umm, the stack of pictures looks gigantic.

  • There are times I wish there were two of me, so I could take the time to savor the task of doing something like scrapbooking, while still keeping up on the rest of what I have to do.  I “picture” a lot of time spent on scrapbooking!  Are your children curious to see them, since they’ll be going over there before too long?  Do you have special places picked you want to take them?  Where?

  • I performed ancillary duties- made the bridesmaids’ mecklaces, did the attendants’ flowers, brought 2 cakes and dip and chips, and a few other minor duties. It was truly a community effort and well worth it. It was a beautiful wedding. T
