  • Sweet Wednesday

It’s almost Wednesday! Isn’t that exciting? Okay, it’s not really, but we’ll pretend. Wait, it actually is exciting. It’s my mom’s birthday! Happy, happy, happy to her!

Not a whole lot is going on now in the aftermath of the big production, or perhaps the usual chaos seems so much less.  I’ve got Easter candy hiding in my closet and am considering what presents to purchase for the children.  Do you do much for Easter?  I like to have all sorts of goodies, but I’m rather short of ideas this year.  We plan to go to my mom’s for Easter lunch, which will be all sorts of yummy.

Speaking of yummy, what Easter candy treat is your favorite?

(I like those little wrapped chocolate eggs and jellybeans, particularly the sour ones.)

  • I love the Reese’s Easter Egg (the big one).  I use to eat those as a child until I made myself sick or just ran out, who am I kidding I do that now.  I’m actually not buying the girls any candy this year. I’m pretty sure Brie is allergic to glutens too so we’re putting her on a gluten-free diet, hence no candy.  We however are buying the girls Easter presents, I really don’t need much of an occasion to want to give gifts.  This year I bought Briar “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” book and a TVHC rattle/teether.  Brie will recieve a giant sand castle bucket “basket”, Head to Toe book, Fisher Price School Bus, Fisher Price Snap & Style doll, beach ball and floater ring arm puff things for the pool.  I too like to have all sorts of goodies.  Oh yeah and I too will spend Easter with my mom, my folks will be in town for a week, yeah!  Good Luck shopping for your goodies, I image in gets harder as they get older!

  • My favorite Easter candy used to be Cadbury Eggs….but now I find them messy and sticky…and kinda unlady like to eat. :)   I told the older kiddos that they’ll be getting the 4th season of I Love Lucy as their community Easter gift….(squeals of delight followed that announcement)….Jakey is getting a few odds and ends- but not the bunny that he wanted….or the extension ladder….nor will he be getting to the backhoe from the job site that he asked for!! !(LOL)

I think we are going to Raleigh in my parents motorhome to see my very ill uncle and my aunt who is coming out from El Paso, TX. There were be approximately 50+ people there…and it’s not even a family reunion. We have a ridiculously large family….but most of us are in CA. :)

    Enjoy your Easter week!!

  • Oh, cadbury egss, definitely.  I pretty much have to break down and get one every year!  mmmmm.  Though I have to admit, since breaking my sugar addiction, they aren’t quite as good as they used to be.  AWFULLY sweet!

  • I also love those malted milk eggs…

  • Kinder Eggs – when we can find them! Hard to find here in the states. Two years ago friends in Greece mailed us some. Sadly, they are now in Nebraska…

  • I’m not normally much of a candy person, but Easter must be celebrated with candy. I love Cadbury Cream Eggs…I go for the filling rather than the chocolate. And I really like the Reeces peanutbutter eggs. And jelly bellies. But most of all, I like a WHITE chocolate bunny and make it last for a week. We have no plans for Easter other than church. I think it will be a nice, quiet weekend as a respite for all the travels we’ve had to do and will do in the surrounding weekends.

  • I have to say that most anything with chocolate is my favorite, as long as it doesn’t have coconut in it. Yuck!

  • i love Cadbury creme eggs, although they give me a major headache. So much sugar! Anything Dove chocolate is pretty fine too~

  • I always went for the reeses candies.. Then next go hunt for the butterfingers.. Lately I haven’t been eating much candies. But I’m quite sure when Easter rolls around. My hand will be dipping in the basket.. HAVE A WONDERFUL HAPPY EASTER WEEK!! :)
