How Dull Can a Bomb Be?
Life seems to be fairly ordinary around here, which makes for a dull blog.
Saturday, Hunter and Gockle appeared bored. Suddenly, with happy prances and gleams in their beady eyes, they appeared at my side. “Mom, can we blow up a box in the back yard?”
“Sure.”
So off they went, armed with aluminum foil, Works toilet bowl cleaner, a 2-L soda bottle, and an empty box from Amazon. We all watched out the window, even the cat.
After an appropriate interval, the box shot up several feet in the air accompanied by a resounding boom. Made me want to write a national anthem or something.
Depending on the connection speed, you may miss the boom and smoke and such. If you want, you can queue it up to the end of the video and watch it again. Such a thrill, I know.

Man, the anticipation is something else . . .
I’ve never understood boys and their fascination with blowing up things.
Now that is cool! But hey, I am a guy. Blowing up stuff is in our genes!
….twice
who’s talking? that can’t be hunter, can it?
It’s true. Boys of all ages love to blow things up. You’ve inspired me to post a video on my blog today.
Gosh that was fun! Write a booming anthem! There’s something gratifying about blowing things up. I mean safely.

That is indeed Hunter talking. He’s all grown up now. The higher voice is Gockle.
You are a cool mother to allow that!
What a hoot. Such a boy thing.
I have to agree that dull is generally a good thing. However, there’s nothing wrong with a good, old-fashioned “boom” now and then to liven things up a bit.
I am looking forward to watching this video when I can make a little more noise with the computer. This doesn’t sound dull at all.
that was great! and my 5 girls would never attempt (or even think of) such a thing. guys and girls are different! so do you think your guys will plan to do it again, only bigger and better next time?
Hey, can you send me the ‘recipe’ for that? My youngest daughter would LOVE to do this! And thanks for visiting the other day……..I’m tryin’ to get back in the swing of posting, but keep it in balbnce with a very full and busy life!!!!
God bless you guys! Becky
Such fun. If you’re looking for a bigger boom, my brother and I used to do it without the box.
Yay, thanks for this! It was fun and funny!
As I was waiting for the box to blow up, I was thinking – I have a zillion things to do, why am I sitting here watching a box? However sometimes it’s nice not to be too serious. Was the cat impressed?

Okay, that ending made me LOL! Actually, we’ve never put a box on top of the porch bomb. MUCH more impressive that way!
I must be a very boring person–I’ve watched it at least 3 times now! Something about the anticipation, I reckon.
