  • Happy To Me!

Yesterday was my grandma’s 89th birthday. The girls and I went to Clearfield to have supper with my mom, grandma, and great-aunt.  We had some good times. She even used her birthday wish to ask that the girls and I would have a safe trip home. Considering that there were a few times when visibility was zero, the snow-covered “Hey, are there lines on this road?” roads, and the fact that TGD and the boys did a 540 (360 plus!) on the way to church that night, I am glad to have her wish granted. Happy birthday to her!

Monday, Sue J and Ransom emailed me:  “There are Jax at Wegmans!”  I scurried over, and I now have Jax again. They are just as yummy as I remember. Life is very good. Happy to me!

The washer repair guy is coming to visit today. Never buy a Kenmore front-loading washer. Nothing but trouble! The warranty expired in January, so this visit I will have to pay for. However, this fellow is our good appliance repair man who is coming not only to repair but to teach me how to fix the washer (take off the panel to unclog the drain), so that I don’t have to call him and pay the fee once every three to six months. Happy to me again!

This afternoon, Little Miss and I plan to start work on a life-size Egyptian sarcophagus (out of cardboard).  But first, we have to get all our school and chores done. Happy to us both!

    What’s making you happy lately?

  • I did one of those lines on the road thing once…

Left my best friend’s 2 week old daughter with the father, got 5 miles from home and slid around a corner… then decided to drive the 30 miles to Erie anyway… About halfway there I said… “You see the road?”  “Kinda, why?”  “Can you tell me where it is??”

Yeah… the sliding at home should have been our cue to turn around.

Plus, when we got to Erie, the power went out, so we were locked in a powerless toystore. lol!!!

  • It just made me happy to see an old KrisKross video here on Xanga.

Your cardboard project is quite special… I hope you will post a picture of it when done! :)

  • Your grandma looks mighty chipper for 89! I miss my Grandma…..if she were alive, I think she would be 111(!) this spring

  • Mary,

I hope you take pictures of the sarcophagus. I would love to see it.

    God bless you :)

  • Once again, I have missed out on several posts.  Glad Wit’s surgery went well–never heard of that, but OUCH!  And glad you had a good time with your grandma.

I’ve been through that “where’s the road?” experience a couple times.  The worst ever was last winter.  Not only was it a whiteout, but it was extremely slick.  So I was drivign a half hour home praying loudly, urging the kids to pray, bouncing from one rumble strip to the other.  I was on the freeway, and all alone, thankfully, until once when I thought I was in the right lane, but a truck came up and passed me on the right.  Talk about freaking out!  I did a 360 that night under an overpass and never in my life have I been so glad to get home.  Whew!  It’s making me tense all over to describe it!

  • We have a Fridgedare and love it. However, once we had to call a guy b/c a bra wire got caught in it, but he too should us how to fix it if it happens again and life is now good.  Of course after the little girls on the news was killed in her mom’s front load washer, I’m afraid Brie’s going to shove her sister inside and turn it on.

  • Cute pictures! The girl in the green short sleeved top looks totally out of place amidst all your winter sweaters, but it’s a cute top!

I’m glad everyone is safe from that ice, you and the boys.

    Yay for your jaxx!

Lost of little things are making me happy. I really appreciate breathing lately (I can’t breathe through my dose at the boment)…I have this nose spray that allows me to breathe and then I just want to hug everyone! I’m about to go on an awesome birthday trip…the anticipation makes me happy! We’re almost alowed to try for kids again…the anticipation makes me happy! We have great friends living in our house…another happy! My dogs are clean as of yesterday…non-stinky kind of happy! (Both smell like B&BW black raspberry vanilla, even the boy dog)

  • Yes, Happy to You! ♫

  • We have a Kenmore front loader and love it. It is the 2t version so nothing fancy. I do know you MUST use the HE detergents or you are asking for a lot of trouble and a dead washer in 5 years……

I have done the whole spin the car completely around a couple time in the middle of a road. Not fun! Especially since it was a station wagon!! I ended up facing the opposite way I wanted to leave town and decided I would just find my way home in that direction.

You grandmother looks very spry for 89…

    Love your snowy background!!

  • Yipes!  Is the weather like that so much you just keep going?  We stay home if at all possible when it gets bad.  I remember a whiteout on the way home from school at dusk.  Very scary and disorienting… It’s always worse when a truck passes you.  I pulled over to the side of the road (at least that’s where I think I was) to calm down before I drove any more.

How are Jax better than Cheetos?

  • Happy to You!!

    Jax, that’s new to me.

It looks like you have such a fun family. :)

  • Sound’s like you had an awesome mother’s birthday. I take it from your last post Hunter is now a penn state student?

  • Why do I have the feeling that you bought several (if not many) bags of Jax?

  • A beautiful letter from a beautiful friend (and arguably being ridiculous enough to catch up with people backwards :)
