  • Happy Christmas to All!

And to all a good day! Er, good night?  Ah, here it is, Christmas Eve day. We are all iced in, and I’m glad we’ve no place to go. Well, we are planning to go to our church’s Christmas Eve service tonight, but if this ice keeps up, I think it would be unwise.  When you can’t make it to the car without falling down, then you might just want to stay home.

We had a lovely Christmas time with my dad’s family last night. My stepmom is an excellent cook, so we were fed well. Plus, we just had a lot of fun visiting.

Today, we have done this and that around the house. We are all eagerly looking forward to the last load of laundry being dry so we can have a Christmas Eve Afternoon family bonding time of sorting nine loads of laundry.  The kids are more excited about that event than about Christmas morning, I bet!

The kids who want to are planning to open one present later today. I’ll have to think about what we have for supper–no special feast planned as of yet.  We’ll read Luke 2 and some will sleep downstairs under the Christmas tree.

May your day be merry and bright, and may you have a blessed Christmas Eve tonight!

  • Merry Christmas back to you!  I’m all iced in too…it will be a cozy evening around the tree for me too tonight…if the power is back on!  It may be a true candle-light service this evening too, which would also suit me just fine.  Any-o-how:  Merry Christmas, friend.

  • A very Merry Christmas to you and your family!!!

  • Great family pic! Merry Christmas to all of you! And thank YOU! <3

  • Merry Christmas to you and your family. We have 65 degrees here, no ice. Cold front coming in later tonight though. We have our Christmas eve service too. About to head home and get ready for it, it’s at 5:00 Central. May God bless this wonderful time of year for you.

  • With 50 degrees here in Greensburg, we had no problem at all going to a wonderful Christmas Eve service.  Glad to be home and waiting for kidlets to go to sleep.  When you have a moment send the pics from last weekend.  Have a great Christmas.  I hope the weather clears for you.

  • @PaBassWidow -

Pictures on the way as I type. Lots and lot of pictures…

  • A terrific photo! My son up there in Boalsburg is doing snow removal these days…and worked from 3 am to 11 am today – no fun! But he made it here safely, so I hope you made it to your service. Blessings!

  • Aw! What a fabulous family picture!

    MERRY CHRISTMAS!

  • Lovely photo! Blessings to you and your family!

  • As always, great photo.  I hope you are enjoying Christmas Day in C’ville.

  • Merry Christmas!

  • Wow!  Another Christmas come and gone!  I hope your Christmas was something to be remembered.  As I read about your ice, I think of our Christmas day in the upper 50′s and today is supposed to be close to 70°F.  The weatherman is actually threatening us with severe storms and possible tornados!  In December?  And just a week ago school was cancelled for ice!  The seasons are getting confused!

  • We open one present on Christmas eve as well!  I used to give them the package with the new pajamas in it, but now they pick their own present to open.  We had a dessert fest with visiting sister, G&G and Bro in law after a Christmas Eve service (for them, we were cleaning).

I made slow cooker oatmeal for Christmas morning.  It was really good.  I might do it again.

  • Ak! this is Mamaglop, not Mr. Mamaglop.  Sorry Mr. M.

  • Yes; tornadoes!  Yesterday we actually got into the upper 70′s.  whew! Unheard of!  This morning I woke up and all the TV stations were broadcasting severe weather warnings and tornado watches.  I was in the middle of a comment and a huge gust of wind must have jerked my satillite because I lost internet.  It is back now and the winds have calmed down a bit.  The termperature has dropped more that 10° in the last 30-40 minutes.  I guess I have something in common with our President-elect; the newsman says Obama is without electricity due to severe weather!

  • I love your idea about sleeping under the tree! How fun is that!!

I miss our little “chats”! I wish I was better at blogging…. maybe one day!

Did you have a good Christmas? What was your favorite part/gift/event/food? We went to my dad’s ex-wife’s house for Christmas Eve with her and my two half bros. It was very fun… she spoiled the girls with lots of “cool clothes” (which was at the top of D’s list). My husband got me an MP3 player–with 4 gigs! woo-hoo!–(like an IPOD thingy) and I’m listening to “Worth It All” by Rita Springer… what a beautiful song! I downloaded all my favorite CDs and then made a big playlist of all my favorite songs and set it to “shuffle”…. how fun! I also got a computer game (how come all my gifts sound like they would be found on a teenager’s Christmas list??) and now I’m addicted to playing Rook, Racko, Dominoes, and other silly games on the computer… phlllrpht! …. hey!! your background is sparkling at me! pretty!

Hope you have a great New Year celebration! Plans? Later….
With the love of our amazing Lord Jesus,
    AJ

  • Hunter is looking very grown up.  We have snow here again this morning.  I left the Christmas lights plugged in last night and they look beautiful glowing through the snow.  I love it when that happens.

I’m still suffering some letdown about Christmas past.  How about you?
