Books and Jax
Yesterday in the mail, I got one of the birthday presents I purchased for myself (with birthday money!). It was a new book light. A book light is almost indispensable for someone who enjoys reading as much as I (and if you are not sure about that enjoyment, just check the book list on the left side). Especially when I am a night owl and poor TGD isn’t quite so nocturnal. (Plus, he gets up and takes the kids to school in the morning while I lead the life of a sleep-in homeschool mom.)
Anyhow, if you are looking for a book light, I can recommend this one so far. I got it at Bas Bleu, if you are interested. It retracts, swivels, and runs on two AAA batteries. Very nice. My previous book light, although a lovely light, gave about six hours of light on two watch batteries. At almost $5.00 for a set of two batteries, I just couldn’t justify using it.
And I failed to mention another birthday treat. One day, a big box with no return address arrived in the mail from a “land far away.” What could it be? Should we trust it? Inside were TWO BAGS OF JAX! I was so happy! And, we peeled off the address label to discover that our friends had reused the box, so we now knew the senders and I could munch in thankful, contented bliss. What friends I have!
I finally got Hunter’s senior picture for the yearbook done. Yes, it was due almost two months ago, but it’s been an ongoing saga. And hopefully, it is finished! Can you tell where I did all the photoshopping? I hope not. It was quite funny yesterday having Gockle hold lights and Hunter posing and posing. Oy.
Today it is rainy, therefore I am going to eat a donut. What are you doing to celebrate your weather?
