Guess Who I Met?
You’re probably scratching your heads (metaphorically, of course, unless you have some skin condition), wondering, “Should I know her? Is that someone famous?” To me, she is. It’s aj1965!
I was just flopped in my recliner, laptop in it’s well-named place, debating what to do with my day when the phone rang.
Mary? This is aj1965. (She actually said her real name.)
Oh my gosh!
We happen to be in Pennsylvania and were wondering if we could come visit you today.
YES!!!!
So, aj1965 and her family drove several hours out of their way just to spend a few hours with me. I talked too much and too fast (har har, B.), but I so enjoyed meeting her and her family and giving her as many garden plants and seeds as I could shove in their car. As they pulled out, Little Miss and C. called to each other, “Tomorrow, 2:00, yellow!” (which is some sort of Webkins thing really unknown to me) In other words, I was not the only one who enjoyed herself.
This makes the fourth person I have known only from Xanga whom I have met. AimeeAnne, LadyoftheManse, and sportsgoddess were the other three. (Am I missing anyone? I’d hate to think I’d forgotten someone.) Such fun!

That’s awesome!
Yay for xanga meetings!
How exciting!!
That’s a great picture of you Mary. God bless you sweetie!!
Sounds like you had a great time meeting her in person. It was nice of her to drive over your way!
Do I count? I knew you on Xanga before I knew that you knew my son. Of course we didn’t meet until after I knew that you knew my son.
how nice of them to come visit you and that you were there. I like to have no warning and I’m better that way instead of cleaning and getting anxious.
Maaan, I need to just conveniently drive through PA sometime and call you up. When I get my license I’ll be sure to do that. (It’s been MORE THAN A YEAR since we’ve seen you btw!!)
I’ve done the “met first on Xanga then met in person” at least twice that I can think of, and it is indeed fun.
How delightful! What are you doing Labor Day weekend? I’ll be in your neck of the woods and I could be #5!

That’s right! I forgot that we were Xanga before we found the connection. Funny!

That would be great! I think we’ll be around most of the weekend.
And niether one of you is creepy serial killer how wonderful! lol
Little Miss is into webkinz? All my kids live for that. we should hook them up!
The only person from Xanga I know is my sister.
and we need to meet up again sometime soon.
That is so fun! I love modern technology.
So fun!!! Happy for you! Also, I was just thinking about Matthew 10:31 (your xanga top title) this week… encouraging.
Oh the power of suggestion. As soon as you said something about itching scalps, I started to scratch mine, and I still have an itch there. Ha!
Metting people from xanga is awesome.
THAT is totally cool!
@ElizabethDNB - She’s not a serial killer, but, you know… after meeting her, I’ve had a whole bunch of weird phone calls and people looking in our windows with axes at night, though! Think it’s related??? JUST KIDDING!! WE’RE NOT SERIAL KILLERS!! REALLY!!
Mary, I want you to know that we all had a total blast at your house. You are a gracious hostess and so easy to talk to! I know I can be more reserved in person upon 1st meetings, but, don’t worry…. that’s just at first! Besides, you already know by my lengthy xanga comments that I have NO problem yackity yacking with the best of them. Now that I’ve met you in person there will be no getting me to shut up!! You’ve created a monster!
You know, if I were you, I’d be really jealous of me right now… looking at that lovely photograph of myself… oh, gag!! Why didn’t someone tell me my cheeks were showing!! (the chipmunk ones!) Ugh! I guess, standing next to “Beauty”, I sort of resemble…. hmmm… now who could that be??
(OH, and for all of you who have never met T.P. in person, you need to know that in pictures she may be “very pretty”, but, in REAL LIFE she is quite the beauty! –Hope you don’t blush too much, Mary!)
Guess what I’ve been doing all day? Gardening!! I’m trying to get all the weeds and “extras” out of the garden to make room for the truck load of lovely plants and seeds you sent me home with! They are all so great! I have needed to get some new varieties in my garden for a long time and you have so graciously met that need! I did kinda feel funny taking so much of your stuff, though! You are so giving, though, and I could tell it’s just part of your nature to share and make sure people feel “cared for” & I did feel that!
I told Retrowoman that I met you and she squealed, “Oh, my gosh!! No way!!!”, & thought it was quite the cool thing! I feel kinda like I met a famous person, myself!!
O.k…. my family would like to eat dinner and seem to think I should have something to do with that…. (what’s up with that?:P) gotta go!! Loved, loved, LOVED meeting you!!! I have a post card I wrote on my trip home… just gotta get stamps!! xxoo
I just wanted to say that I like your username
Glad you had a nice visit. You’re a xanga magnet.
Hooray for Xanga friends. And you look as lovely as ever!
I left a comment with AJ about how totally cool I think this was!! HOW FUN FUN FUN.
Do you realize that you’ve just made about EVERY Xangian on the planet feel not just WELCOME but INVITED to your house? (LOL) And if they pop over to AJ’s site they’ll see how much you feed people. LOL.
Wow. Better REALLY STOCK UP for trick-or-treating. LOL.
What part of Pennsylvania are you from?
How fun is that! I didn’t know you had met so many xangans. I guess I thought you already knew them.
