Back Home…for a Moment
Thank you so, so much for all your emails and cards. One special friend even mailed me a box of Little Debbie cakes to share with the girls in my cabin! Every day, it was such a treat to go to the mail and see a big pile. I loved every message, from the short “hope you are well,” to the jokes and comments, to the Xanga posts. Thank you!
I had intended to write a nice, long entry about my time as a counselor of the seven teenage girls under my charge, but I find I am exhausted. On Sunday, I came down with a horrible cold and headed off to camp. God was very gracious and gave me strength to get through the week, but now that I am home and no longer running on adrenaline, I’m wiped out. And I’m still sick.
It was a great week, though. I really enjoyed my girls. I enjoyed them so much that I’m planning to go to counsel again the last week of July! (The need is great for counselors, all ye who live in the area.)
Tomorrow, we head out for a five-day family camping trip and then a three-day visit to my mom’s. I wanted to thank all of you individually for your emails while I was at camp, but there just won’t be the time tonight. Just know that I am grateful.*************PS–How to do a future post:
Type up your entry. Then, before you post it, click on “Edit” under “Time” which is just above the “Save Changes” button. You can then choose the time and day you want your entry to post.

‘Tis lovely to have you blogging again. You were missed…but also prayed for while away. I am sorry you were feeling sick even upon arrival ~ I can well imagine how wiped out you must feel now. Please know of my prayers for your strength and speedy recovery. Be careful and have fun as you and the family head off again. Enjoy the visit with your mom, too.
Many blessings and hot comforting teas with honey…or iced if you wish,
Cookie
Hey! Welcome back! Hope you have a chance to catch us up on your happenings…enjoy the next set of outings!
hope you get better soon and thanks for the tutorial on future posts. cool!
Sorry to hear you are sick. Hope you get better soon, and don’t share with the rest of your family.
I’ll try to find some wedding photos. When we got married, we didn’t even own a computer between us, and I hadn’t even heard of digital cameras, so I’ll have to find something to scan.
Wow!! You don’t have much time to recover, eeh? Hope that you are able to rest up tonight and wake up well for your next adventure!
sorry you’re sick -did you get paid or did it for free? How did you have the energy to keep up with the teens and then sick on top of it.
thanks for the imformation about the edit in the future if I ever need it.
Wow. Your putting a lot of travel miles in this year!!
I love being a K.A.H. Director/Mentor…..so I can just imagine how much fun it would be to be a camp counsellor!
That sounds like lots of fun.
Glad to hear from you again. I wish someone mailed me Little Debbies! Wow!
Hey, thanks for the instructions. There are still so many little things I don’t know how to do around here.
Have fun and feel better!
Hope you get a lot of rest now!
Glad you are back! Happy you had a fun! Hope you feel better soon and have fun on your next two adventures!
You are making the rest of us look bad!
That sounds like so much fun! I’d have loved to be one of the girls in your cabin. Or a counselor, too. I’ve discovered I like that sort of thing.
Hmm, posting in the future… that sounds quite nifty. I have no idea when or why it would come in handy, but it is nifty all the same.
Hope you recover from your cold as soon as possible!
speaking of a tutorial- i have a question for ya. remember when you were in England and you and a friend went on an outing and you had this picture of her so far away you had to use an “arrow” to pinpoint her? can you tell me how you did that? thanks. if you go to my site, you’ll know why i’m asking.
Oh my, you are still traveling? I think I wouldn’t want to leave my home after such a long absence as you had this spring. Mr. M. and I have commented that you seem to be a high energy person. Last day of spelling camp was yesterday and I am looking forward to cleaning the house today. Yes, really. No, it’s not my favorite thing to do but it really needs doing.
