  • Happy Camper

I hope you had a blessed and wonderful Independence Day. Our neighbors treated us (and the rest of the neighborhood) to a 50 minute fireworks show.  Two other neighbors had even more fireworks.  These weren’t the $20 a piece backyard variety–they ones were huge!

I am going to be heading to camp to be a counselor Sunday through Friday at a Christian camp about a half an hour from my house. I would LOVE to have mail if you care to write to me.  Even if you think, “Oh, she doesn’t want mail from me. I don’t know her that well/haven’t talked to her in a while/some other reason,” you would be wrong. I would dearly love your message!

Go HERE and click the link to the right for “One Way Camper Email” or just send an email to camper@kanesatake.org. Put “For Mary Sellers” in the subject line. (Because that’s my real name!)  LibbyK and Hunter are going to be there, too. You can put “Libby Sellers” or “Nathan Sellers” in their subject lines.

If you want to send me snail mail, send it to:

    Mary Sellers
    c/o Camp Kanesatake
    PO Box 11
    Spruce Creek, PA 16683

I’ll be a counselor for Youth Quest, grades 7 to 12. I’d appreciate prayers in addition to mail.

I hope you have a wonderful week without me. I hope to spend some time on Saturday catching up with your lives on Xanga.

  • I’ll miss you, but I be praying and I’ll try to write at least a couple of times.

  • May all of your efforts be blessed as you serve at camp.

  • I hope you have a great week (and I hope LibbyK does as well)!   Of course, you will be missed!

  • Hey, Lady!  Hope you have a great time!  I’ll try really, really hard to write you while you’re at camp!  We just got back from a short camping trip (just two nights).  We do that usually as a “trial run” close by to make sure everything is in working order and not leaking (if it rains!).  We had a huge thunderstorm on our second night, so, we have received our initiation and our badge!  ;)

This week, I’ll be planning my eldest daughter’s 12th birthday “Pool Party”!  I thought 10 was a big one, but, 12… iy-yie-yie!!… 12 is definitely bigger!! She already has had her first babysitting job and a second as well over the last week.  That’s so exciting!  It’s just a neighbor boy who is usually over here 5+ hours a day playing anyway, but, this time she got paid! When she turns 12 she gets her ears pierced, too!  She’s so excited!

I’m missing a movie I started with my hubby…. better go!  AJ

  • I’ll be praying for you! Your cabin will be very fortunate to have you as a counsellor!

  • Have fun at camp!!

People in my neighborhood went wild with fireworks as well…the big bucks kind. I was pretty impressed!

  • @aj1965 -

What movie did you see? TGD and I watched The Painted Veil. It was very good.

  • Camp alwasy makes me think of the movie “Parent Trap” – the original with Haley Mills, Brian Keith, and Maureen O’Hare.  Do those kind of antics ever really happen?  That movie glamorized camp for me my whole life.  I’ve never been to a youth camp of any kind for any legnth of time (once an overnight camp with campfire girls) and would love to hear about this.  Have a wonderful time, and I’m sure God has equipped you with everything you need to be a counsellor to this group of young adults.  What an awesome privelege to serve in this way!  Have fun!

  • And which would that be?

  • @englishwestern -

The one you wrote for me. Do you remember it?

  • You have an awesome week at camp.
