I Want a Bowl of Noodles
Three of the children and I went to see Kung Fu Panda tonight. It turned out to be a fun movie with lots of quotable, amusing lines. Of course, there was a bit of crude humor and the whole Kung Fu nonsense, but overall, I laughed many times. Just to be silly, when I bought our smuggle-in movie candy, I also bought a box of Kung Fu Panda Crunchers cereal. Such a goof mother. The kids just rolled their eyes.
TGD had a good Father’s Day, I think. We went to lunch at Wendy’s and took a nap. He got a Second Degree Black Belt Sudoku book (such a martial arts theme) and two bags of peanut butter M-n-Ms (in keeping with the snacking panda theme). Speaking of snacking, er…
Not a Very Good Diet Challenge–Sunday
Breakfast–two cinnamon buns (Pillsbury bake at home) and tea
Lunch–Wendy’s grilled chicken sandwich with lettuce and tomato, fries, Oreo Frosty Twister
Supper–(eaten at the movie theater) Slimfast bar, half a movie-sized box of Dots
Snacks–bowl of Jax cheesies, bowl of watermelon (yet to be eaten)
Exercise–Lifting my hand to my mouth while eating Dots at the movies, 2 hour power nap
“I just ate, so I’m still digesting, so my Kung Fu might not be as good as…later on.”

too funny, teacherperson. i’ve heard that laughing is good exercise too!
You are so funny! Lol. Sounds like you had a great day with your hubby and kids. That oreo thing sounds good right now.
I just got back from civilization and an overnight date with my husband before dropping him off at the airport that’s 2 1/2 hr drive from home. We live in the boonies, so we occasionally enjoy a simple weekend in a place with sushi, a nice movie theater, and international cuisine. We saw Prince Caspian again. My husaband wanted to see it in a big, nice theater. (We have a decent theater locally, but “decent” is being kind.) We nearly saw Kung Fu Panda in IMAX, that was a tough choice. After the movie, we had a late dinner at our favorite sushi place. I recruited our waiter for the military school system overseas and we had a romantic meal at the sushi bar. My husaband ordered way too much food, so we had sushi for breakfast! How’s that for decadent luxury!? Today we had Arabic food after church and bought some things for the home. After I dropped him at the airport, I shopped for his birthday and treated myself to an outfit at Ann Taylor. I really don’t like shopping, but sort of feel the need to look when we are in a place that actually has something other than WalMart and JC Penney. Hope you had a good weekend…sounds like yours was fun!
Here’s my weekend food journal. My hydration is no where near 100 oz, but that just seems excessive. I’m aiming high, but don’t want to walk around sloshing and feeling like my belly is a fish tank!
Saturday, 14 June:
Brunch:
24 oz. water,
Chicken mole, 1 egg, low-fat cheese, 1 nectarine.
Snack:
16 oz. diet soda, 3 jalapeno cheddar poppers.
Dinner:
16 oz. water,
4 oz. plum wine with plum in it,
Shared plate of vegetable tempura, seaweed salad with crab meat and cucumbers, sushi (rice, raw fish, veggies),
8 oz water at bedtime.
(Hydration total: 68 oz)
Sunday, 15 June:
Breakfast: leftover sushi, 12 oz water.
Lunch: 12 oz. fresh squeezed apple-carrot juice, salad (greens, tomatoes, cucumbers, green peppers, onions, feta), shawarma (pita, lamb, beef, veggies, yogurt-tahini sauce), 1 piece baklava, 16 oz. water.
Afternoon: 50-50 decaf-caf latte.
Dinner:
8 oz red wine, 24 oz water,
Chicken mole, 1 egg, cheese, low fat & regular cheese,
Later: I’ll probably have 1 scoop of ice cream (splenda, not sugar) and a nectarine and another glass of water.
(Hydration total: 80 oz)
I love the exercise! Go for it!
PS – Exercise…Saturday we did some walking in 100 degree sunny weather between errands and the movie theater. Ugh. Today…none.
That’s about the extent of my exercise for yesterday! Only the movie was Prince Caspian, although Kung Fu Panda looks extremely amusing!
Had to laugh at your exercise… and the quote. I’ve heard good things about Kung Fu Panda. I totally would have done the same thing with the cereal theme and been excited about it… just to have my husband roll his eyes.
I am jealous of TGD’s peanut butter M&Ms as they are my favorite. I’m surprised they aren’t more popular.
Sunday food journal:
Breakfast: yogurt w/granola; Lunch: Swedish meatballs w/cream sauce and boysenberry preserves, latkes w/applesauce, apple juice; Dinner: French bread pizza, 1 peach, Mike’s lemonade; Snacks: various brownie pieces throughout the day, probably adding up to about 1.5 brownies total
Exercise (at last, something substantial!): about 45 minutes of tennis and 3/4 mile run
Can’t wait to see it……. your diet looks copyable!
Buying those pandas for a “panda” film is too cute!
I have no idea what some of the items are you ate but it doesn’t sound like too much. The exercise is great, you were indeed a sporty person yesterday!
Ha ha ha!! That’s my idea of exercise. Glad that you all had a good day.
I’m a calorie counting drop out and I will just love my size 14 for now.
I haven’t gone to the movies since last march and saw Zodiac and hubby and I like to see a movie a year. I’m from the old generation -like to see the big screen.
Thanks for the comment! I wasn’t quite ready to give up my blog. Xanga acted like somebody wants to use my username. I couldn’t give that up either even though I don’t consider it that great. My husband sometimes calls me “Imajo” so it’s become more that just a silly username to me.
About the school thing? Does your husband ever get “older” students in his classes?
I did not eat well this weekend, either. There was a Father’s Day late lunch at my sister-in-law’s house. Ugh! I started at the dessert end of the buffet and after 3 servings and half a watermelon, I couldn’t even look at the entres. I am still digesting this morning.
On GMA this morning, Dr Oz gave the following guideline on being heart healthy: Waistline measurement at belly button should not exceed half your height. I was extremely distressed to find that I fail this test! Not by much, but still, FAILURE! Maybe I am just too short.
I love your exercise regime for Sunday! Surely that burned a good amount of calories, right? All that back and forth “arm lifts” (or is it up and down?)… Somedays we just need to do that.
Interesting exercise program, I must say. Can I join your club? It sounds better than the elliptical trainer & weight training! lol
I want to see Kung Fu Panda but I haven’t got the time. too bad.
Take Care always. ^_^
Your breakfasts amaze me. I think I would have the low blood sugar shakes by ten’oclock.
