  • What Do These Places Have in Common?

    Arizona, California, Russian Federation, Pennsylvania,
Texas, Brazil, Australia, Ontario, Washington, Spain, Belgium, Delaware, New
Hampshire, Colorado, Great Britain, Denmark, Korea, Missouri, Nebraska,
    Senegal, and Hong Kong.

They are all places on my Xanga footprints today. How very international I feel! Who ARE these people reading about punting?

I’d be just as delighted to make your acquaintance as I was to eat these fairy cakes with double cream and blueberries. Just leave me a comment. You don’t even have to have a Xanga account to do it. (And, if you don’t want to leave your real email address, just make one up, like NotMyEmail@juno.com.) But, if you prefer to remain as The Great Mysterious Unknown, it’s okay, too.

PS–If you’ve never checked your Xanga footprints, you might want to, just for fun. Go to your private page. If it’s the white one, the footprints link is on the left, in blue.  If it’s your site page, go to Feedback Log and look for it in the left-hand side in blue.

  • Yay footprints! It’s been awhile since I’ve had any interesting ones…

  • We have this thing in our family that without the blueberries there are known to us as Debbie buns.

  • I’ve gotten some really exotic footprints in my time. For a while I was getting footprints from the Ivory Coast, Latvia, Lithuania, Spain… etc…

  • Ah, footprints.  They aren’t always from where the orginal reader is from.  What I’ve noticed is that it is from where the post last bounced from.  For example, my sister in Michigan showed up as if she’s from Illinois.  I’m from Iowa so possiblity I showed up as Missouri or Nebraska.

Double cream… isn’t that cream cheese mixed with heavy cream?  White cake baked in mini cupcake forms?  These looked PERFECT for tea parties!

Reading about your England adventure is like traveling there myself!  I wish…  maybe after my dearest retires?  He doesn’t fly but would take a boat.

  • That looks soooo yummy

  • My footprints show someone in VA visiting my site every 15 minutes or so for the lest several days. I think I got a glitch, haha.

  • Early on, I started keeping track of footprints, just out of curiosity.  So far, all 50 states, 8 Canadian provinces and 45 other foreign countries, such as Viet Nam, Slovakia, Poland, Macau, Saudi Arabia, Ireland and Israel!  Haven’t had Senegal or Brazil that are on your list, though.  Wouldn’t it be FUN to know who they are???  It boggles my mind ~ not sure I even know where all these place are!

  • I figured those mysterious footprints were just from searches for certain words or whatever. Not real people who were reading my blog. Hmmmmm. So are fairy cakes just miniature cupcakes? They look YUMMY! And what is double cream??? Must know! I am really enjoying your trip, too, by reading your blog. :)

  • I’ve had Russian Federation, Hong Kong, and Korea a lot lately. Russian Federation is the one that gets me. I even had one from Macau….What the heck is that? Wish there was some way to see who these people are. I’ve had Australia too, but I know a few folks over there, so it’s prolly somebody that has seen me on their site. Wish these people would get a xanga so we would know who they are! Oh, and one of those days I had a lot of weird footprints, I had a Mcafee warning that I had an unwanted program trying to access my computer, did I want to deny it access….It’s like well DUH, yeah! Sheeesh!

  • Are there THAT many people that don’t have Xanga that want to read what we write….Get your own xanga People!

  • Footprints totally thrill the “snoopy” side of me. :)

  • I’m the one from Texas silly! jilly

  • I’m another Texas!  It is the international footprints that thrill me most!

  • Wow, that picture makes me hungry. It has been so fun to read your blog. It brings back fun memories of my time in Oxford about 10 years ago. Thanks for the footprints info. I’ll go check it now. :)

  • hello…those fairy cakes look so nice…mmm.

  • Those cupcakes look delish! Fresh blueberries are one of my favorite joys of summer – I can never get enough. I saw your Cambridge postcard you sent to the Xanga people. I was just skimming through the first few and was surprised to see a name I recognized – how fun. :)

  • YUM!  I need to be more consistant with my blogging and my footprints will get more interesting again.  Hope you enjoyed those lovely fairy cakes.

  • Is that whipped cream or clotted cream?

  • Those look so good!  I love blueberries!!!

I was told that each time a word is googled, a search engine will ‘find’ that word if it shows up in your blog and record it as a ‘hit’ or a footprint.  I can’t say if that’s accurate though.  There are times I google a word like ‘string quilt’ and get links to so many blogs…then I go visit them.  I eventually did the sign in for my xanga.  It’s not that I have people I’m hiding from, I was just getting so many footprints that this I couldn’t tell if I was getting genuine visitors or just search engines.  (I want real footprints!)

  • @i_was_there_and_back_again -

    It’s whipped light double cream.

  • @vjgunkel59 -

The search engines show up in the second column and tell you what word they searched on. That’s my favorite part, seeing what random word brought someone to my site!

  • haha yeah! i’ve had a few odd places on there too!!! just not quite so many all in one day! haha

  • You can add Trinidad, West Indies to the list.

I like to check my footprints, too. Last week I had someone from France.

And boy do those muffins look delicioso!!

    Eat two for me!!

  • O.K.  Salad is lettuce and tomatoes, fairy cakes are cupcakes?  I would like to know how non xangans can comment.  What do they click?

  • Your blog gets around!

  • Oh, those look good! And I’m sure they are carb free.

No, I don’t like to travel. In fact, I hate it. I would rather move than travel. I’m like one of those ancient Egyptians (only I’m an ancient Okie) who wanted to take all their stuff with them, even when they died. I feel comfortable at home with my own stuff.

                                                   Signed,

                                                               The Great Mysterious Unknown Okie

  • Are you on a sabbatical with your teaching job? My best friend from High School lived in Oxford for a year when his father took a sabbatical there (Theology professor). What’s been the best and the worst aspects of your time in the UK?

  • Hi Mrs. Sellers!!! I’m posting on your comments thingy!!!

  • How could I have missed this entry!  I love, love, love blueberries!  I think a fairy cake must be smaller than a cupcake since it can only hold 6 blueberries.   mmmmmmmmmm

  • No No silly….I’m the one from Texas.  You old pal, Michelle O. I think that runts or nerds would be better on top that cookie…tee hee.  Love reading your Xanga :)
