  • Tied Up in Knots

That’s how my stomach is right now.  Why, I’m not so sure. Things are going along very well. We seem to have plenty of room in our suitcases for all our clothes, shoes, school books, games, computers, and so on.  Little Miss is over her fever, and so far no one else is sick. My mom and the B’s are coming over tomorrow to help us finalize all the thisses and thats. And, we had a fine farewell dinner with a whole flock of friends at Subway in Wal-Mart earlier tonight.

So, to distract myself, I’m off to have a final (gulp) hot bath and read a book.  And then I’ll lie awake for four hours (thanks, caffeine) thinking of all the things yet undone.  I don’t fret often, so I suppose I should make the most of it when I do.

Please pray for your frazzled friend!

  • I will! May your sleep be unusually sweet, however unexpected. What an exciting opportunity. I’ll be visiting you in spirit, across the pond!

  • I’ve never left the country (I’m assuming that’s what you’re doing) so I’d be a little nervous, too.

By the way, it’s really cool that you know who the Replacements are. “Answering Machine” is off of my favorite album by them.

  • You’ll be fine, don’t worry! Safe travels.

  • prayers for peace, especially, are coming your way!

  • Oh, I will pray, Mary, but certainly no guarantees since it never works when I pray for myself that way. I even couldn’t go to sleep just going on a three-day trip to St. Louis last weekend. I’m hoping by tonight that I will be caught up on my sleep.

  • I bet that the hot bath worked wonders,it works for me,never fails!
I will pray and trust in the Lord to hear my prayer for you.

  • I am praying for you!!!

  • Sounds like you’re off for an adventure, to where, I have no idea, but have a wonderful and safe trip! Your NYE’s party looked HUGE! What a fun blessing to have someone’s house to go to and hang out.

Hope you have a great trip and thanks for the comment.

  • Hang in there, Mary. You’re ready to jump into a great adventure like Frodo Baggins!

  • I will pray.  It is a huge undertaking, but I am confident you are the woman for the job.

  • I will remember you in my prayers!  (((((hugs)))))

  • Aw Mary! I know that feeling well. Remind yourself of the important things–passports, tickets, prescription medications, camera, books. You can live without or replace, just about everything else–if you forget it. Usually you don’t–you find when you get there that you brought not only what you need, but a case full of stuff you end up not using the entire time you are there.

Thinking of you, praying for sleep these last nights. You probably won’t relax until you’ve left home and can’t go back. That is so normal!

    Hugs to you!

  • Too late now but melatonin or 5Htp or Tension RX Night Time are great things for helping get to sleep.

I am so excited for you. Wish we could meet up ….

  • Will do!  I’m so excited for you guys…travel safe and let us know when you get there!

  • Hmm…may very well be related to Virgnia Apgar. She’d be the grandchild or great-grandchild of Samuel or Elizabeth Apgar, making her my…first cousin three times removed. Or something along those lines.

    More research is needed.

  • Oh definitely praying for you!

And after reading this *I* have butterflies in my stomach for you!

  • important things are passport, credit card, and camera – have a great trip…looking forward to hearing about it all.

  • Have safe travels and take a deep breath and try to relax and enjoy the journey!  I’ll be praying for you.

  • Praying here.  I can’t believe the time is already here so I can just imagine how you feel.

  • Gracious. I wasn’t aware that you ever fretted. I’d make some awful guitar pun, but I’m just not feeling clever enough. Cheer up, old bean, and start plotting your fridge sonnets.

  • Not sure when you’ll read this but know we’re all praying for you.  Drove by your place around lunchtime (we were heading out 550 and my mom was with us and was wondering where you live) and it looked like you were still packing and doing last minute stuff.  We’d have stopped in but you didn’t need 4 more kids and a grandma (plus me) to add to the confusion!  Sorry we didn’t make the hoagie sendoff.  Will you have a bathtub in England?  We will look forward to seeing the pics and updates on your blog.  Enjoy the new experiences over there (plus getting there)!

  • Mary, I have and will continue to pray for you today. Hangth thou in there!!!

Take three deep breaths and pray a quick prayer about your worries tonight. Then remember God’s promise of Peace that passes all understanding.

Take care and have a great time.

    Love in Christ,

    Stephenie

  • Brie and I prayed for you today.  I truely hope you have a great time and keep us updated!

  • Oh, what a horrid thing it is to have knots in your stomach! You poor thing! I shall pray for you….read Phillipians 4:6-8 or just the whole chapter…I love it when I feel that way or worried!

  • If anyone can handle frazzle it’s you.

    *Smooches*

    *Flies Away*

  • awww, you didn’t seem the type to have butterflies, but I’ll pray for you in moments like these.  You’ll calm down as soon as you’re on your way and I really do relate to these pre-trip jitters.  It indicates to me who did most of the planning and packing and who feels responsible if anything is forgotten.

I can’t wait to hear about this adventure!

  • God Bless you, friend, and give you safe travel!

  • Thinking of you! Hope all is going fine and your frazzles have settled down!
