  • It’s My Birthday!

And what am I doing? I am sitting at my mom’s watching Ninja Warrior on TV and laughing my head off.  Later today, we will go to a big to-do Thanksgiving dinner at the Glen Richey Fire Hall for all the Bressler clan. (I used to be one in name as well.)  I’ve not opened any presents yet. Being a grown-up person, I can now wait until later in the day.  Uh-huh. Just look at how grown up I can be.

One early present I got merits mention. Melchisedec gave me something I’ve wanted since high school–a music box which plays the theme to Romeo and Juliet, A Time for Us.  She rocks.

I appreciated all my virtual presents, too. I’ve got a pile of books, chocolate, bubble bath, a spa day, and wonderful theater tickets. (I think I’ll go to Spamalot.)  Make believe is still fun, is it not?

Do you still engage in bouts of imagination?

PS–I’m at 35,101 words in my novel.  Will I be able to make it to 50,000 by November 30th?

  • Happy Birthday!!!

Our birthdays are pretty close to the same time.   I hope you have a wonderful day.

  • Happy, happy b’day!

I love the music in your music box!! Have you heard Josh Groban’s rendition? I bought his album just for that song!

May you be surrounded all day by folks who love and appreciate you and quiet moments of happiness.

  • happy birthday!  and you’ll get to 50,000, no problem

  • Happy Birthday!!!  I wish you a wonderful year full of good things!  My birthday is Sunday, so like you, I often have turkey for my birthday dinner.    You certainly share your special day with quite a line up-including one more (if I might add…) My parents were married on this day in 1950, so I think this day must be pretty special to have so many big events occurring on it.

Thanks for subbing to me.  I have often seen your comments on MG’s site and thought you looked pretty interesting.  MG is very sweet to commend me.

I was looking over a few of your entries and got all those warm fuzzy feelings over the theatric production of “Little Women.”  I love watching that movie particularly at this time of year, and would have liked to have see your production.

Best wishes on your novel and it’s completition!

  • Many happy returns.

  • You’re very welcome!  Happy Birthday!

  • I’m Canadian :) . Happy birthday! And keep plugging away on that book… you can do it :) .

  • 35,101? As of today? As of now? I beat you! I’m ahead of you! I must savor the moment. *stops to close eyes and savor*

Happy Birthday! I hope you have a beautiful birthday full of loveliness, both real and imagined. And watching Ninja Warrior doesn’t count. Unless you want it to, I guess.

And thank you for the happy Thanksgiving wishes. I’m quite thankful for you, too.

  • ryc: Thanks for asking.  I’m somewhere in the middle of a manuscript, but I haven’t bothered to check the word count recently.  I’m not writing it as part of nanowrimo.  I have a writing process and timetable that works well for me (I recently sold my third mystery) and nanowrimo isn’t a good fit for that process.  Instead I write nanowrimo tips to entertain my friends and readers.  Good luck with your manuscript.

  • Happy Birthday!  I hope you have a wonderful day!

  • HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY…. ahem!… HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!! I have a bunch to do today to get ready for leading worship tomorrow, so, I can’t play on xanga today!  :(   so sad!)  Maybe another day! Buh-bye!!

  • Wow! You’re attempting NanoWrimo? That’s pretty cool! I tried it back in the day, but I just couldn’t commit to 2000 words a day.
    Eep.

  • you look… wired. happy late birthday!
thanks for dropping by my site…
gah, it looks like i might be forced to sign up for facebook.

  • Happy Birthday!  Thanks for the post and the head’s up – I’m not too well versed in Facebook yet (after all, I’m not my teenager… she reminds me daily of that) but I’ll try to “figure it out” and stop by.

Ninja Warrior!  Hah!  I thought it was only my very own bizarre college-kid-come-home-for-Thanksgiving that watched that!

  • Hope you had a good birthday

  • Happy Belated birthday!!!

  • RYC: Nope… I’m helping create it :) . I wrote the book; my cousin is the principal dancer.

  • I think I love you.

    =]

  • Happy belated b-day. You’re writing a book? Very cool. I’m also working on some. Have you got a publisher or agent? If so, how did you find them? I’m still researching that. Let me know how that goes.

  • The water thing: I just HATE getting wet.  It makes me veryvery cranky.

    And cantankerous.

    And angry.

    So, that’s that.

    Lotta comments.

  • RYC:  The Wii was 209.99, $40 off and so worth every penny (kinda)!!!  Also, we went home for Thanksgiving which means we had no guests.  Instead we were the guest at Rob’s folks and Black Friday was spent with my family.   It was a nice visit, but I’m so ready to head home in the morning!

  • But how did the virtual Chocolate Cake that i sent taste?    Ooh, Spam-a-lot! I’d go see that if I had the chance!

  • That sure is a lot of comments!  Happy Birthday (again).

  • Happy Birthday. :)

    1. I was punched in the face, quite accidentally. It was painful and horrible, and I looked (even more) like a lunatic for the next couple weeks.
    2. You eat the skin of the ankle area and then eat each of the toes entirely. Seriously, it is delicious. I’d compare it to a tough cuttlefish.

  • I have no idea what the drops are reflecting! If you look carefully, they aren’t water drops…but ornaments!

  • Very belated Happy Birthday.  I hope it was wonderful.  I’m sending you a cyber box of chocolates.    How comes the book?  What *real* presents did you get?

  • Happy belated birthday!  I keep forgetting that you’re only two years older than my husband.

  • Well, happy belated birthday!
