  • Groan

I ate too much this evening. I didn’t intend to do so, but we went to Target this afternoon and got the $1 popcorn and soda deal. (Best deal ever!) Then, we came home and had pizza for supper. Then I had a big milkshake. Groan. Too full!  I’d fast somewhat tomorrow, but my mom is taking LibbyK, Little Miss, and me out for a day of shopping which of course means a dinner out somewhere and a snack!  It also means new clothes for my birthday (in November) and maybe some boots which aren’t quite as high-heeled as the brown ones I bought the other day.  They are nice looking, though.

This evening, for the first time in…forever?…we had a totally free evening. I planned ahead and got Fantastic 4 and the sequel. We all cuddled up in the living room, eating our pizza to the glow of Ioan Gruffudd.  When the first movie was done, we had a break while I made milkshakes. Then, it was back to more Ioan Gruffudd. . . er, Fantastic 4.   (Just kidding. I like my husband a lot better than IG.)

I started to read the trilogy Tristan and Isolde, and it is just what I imagined it would be, sort of a druid/fantasy thingie. I should be reading The Shining Company so I can discuss it with Hunter and Wit as it is their current Sonlight reader. But, I’ve not yet started it.  Oh, the “should do’s” of life!

What should you do, and what are you doing instead?

PS–I decided to keep the profile picture and change the site to match it.  Obviously.

  • I should be doing anything except sitting at my computer, LOL.

  • I should be washing clothes but instead I’m watching House.. lol

You gotta tell me about the sequel to the Fantastic 4 if it is good.. I already seen the first one but not the 2nd one..

  • I haven’t seen Fantastic 4 yet. How was it?

  • ryc:  I didn’t watch the movie, the girls did.  But they liked it.  Did you see the 12 dancing princesses?  Even Mike liked that one.

  • My “shoulds” are enough to cause total catatonic immobilization. Won’t even go there….

  • hahaha…….I should be dieting but I continue to eat the wrong stuff.  Fair food!  My worst weakness was the peanutbutter cookies that have a 6 inch diameter..  I am not sure how it happened, but I got home without a funnel cake.

  • o.o great minds think alike, i guess! We watched Fantastic Four 2 yesterday afternoon!
I’m liking the new layout, by the way… :)

  • I was out cruising around xanga and got this site from jatro:

    http://www.wqad.com/Global/link.asp?L=259460

It is a questionaire.  It asks your opinion on 11 topics and then matches up the presidential candidates in order of those most in agreement with you.  I found it helpful in weeding out some of the candidates!

  • Mmmmmmm, popcorn, pizza and milkshakes! That too full feeling is no fun, though. I should be cleaning the bathroom sink and should finish getting ready for the day…I’ve run a brush through my hair, washed my face and dressed. It would be nice if I put on a touch of make-up and put my contacts in I suppose. :)

  • P.S. I’m glad you kept your profile pic. It’s a really nice one! And your new background looks great with it. :)

  • how do you stay so thin, teacherperson!  (no fair!)

i spend time on the computer or playing the piano when i should be cleaning house or planning drama improv activities (what i am currently procrastinating on! haha)…   i got the sheet music to the pride and prejudice cd and that has been fun

  • Tristan and Isolde…. do you like it?  it looked soooo dark (the movie that is) when i saw the previews for it….druidism (shudders)

  • My birthday is in November too.

I am glad you didn’t change the profile pic.  Then again, I am not known for changing my profile pic.

  • Thanks for the tips. I’m almost positive I did better this time around…but only time will tell.

  • I should help my husband do dishes right now.  He’s a good man…  I’ll let him keep being so good.

  • I don’t know why you “groan”, it sounds like you had a perfectly delightful day!

As for me today was filled with “Should” things…no fun!

  • What a wonderful day!  Hope you found treasures on your shopping trip! :)

  • Gosh, I ate way too much yesterday too. Today’s been a bit better. Ioan Gruffudd is the only reason I saw Fantastic Four…I have yet to see Silver Surfer, basically because I thought the first FF movie was so unworthy of Ioan’s talents. So what did you think of the sequel?

  • Re: your profile pic.  I’m still looking for those bangs you described!  I wanted to see the Silver Surfer this weekend as well.  The kids and Mr. M. are watching Batman instead while I’m up on xanga, talking with Prima on the phone and not doing what I should be doing: reading a chapter of Child and Adolescent Development and studying for a test.  I think I should be an expert of Child and Adolescent development, but I don’t know the names of the theories or who developed them.  Don’t care a lot either, but I want an A.  I should really study.

  • That list would be awfuly long!  Right now alone I am blogging instead of cleaning and drinking coffe in my jammies instead of teaching sunday school, but it is my anniversary and my son is under the weather, so I called in sick.

The rest of the list would need it’s own site!  But one thing I am behind on is notebooking, which I have never done, but was supposed to start.  Any tips?

  • Should do any number of things…why am I on the computer and not just sleeping?  Oh well.  How nice for you to have had a totally free evening!  Hope that you enjoyed it, even if you were feeling a little full.

  • Long time no see!! lol  Anyway, I did a little research on Ibanez guitars, I have never played one but here’s one with a pretty good review. Fender & Gibson are def. tops, but here is a link for a what looks like a good beginer guitar. http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Ibanez-RE2EX1-Electric-Guitar?sku=519783 The price is pretty good too. After a while you’ll want to upgrade if he likes it, but this is not a bad starter if you’re into rock or metal. At least that’s what I gather from the reviews. As for Fender’s, a good country guitar is def. a Tele (Telecaster), but a good overall guitar is the Strat (Stratocaster). If you go with either of those I would probably say the Strat! I love that guitar! Keep in mind, it’s good to play it before you buy it because that way you can see what it feels like which is important. Oh, and you probably don’t want a cheap guitar because cheap guitars are hard to play, and just not so much fun! Music Mart is a good music store btw, that’s where Al goes.

  • I like your profile pic.  You remind me of a friend and fellow homeschool mom who moved to FL this year.  Her husband took a pastorate the first of the year and I really missed her.  All 3 of her girls danced and would have been in “The Nutcracker” that we rehearse every weekend.  I always looked forward to hearing about her school week and wondering how she homeschooled and did pastor’s  wife stuff too.

So…sounds like your family night was a success.  Is this a weekly event?

     Have a great week!

  • I love the “wheat-toned” linen background! (I made that up all by myself…. what? am I a 3 y.o.?…. so proud of herself!)

We (mostly, I) have been listening to Little Men & loving it.  I’ll have to get the Railway Children next, though, since I’ve heard the girls mention they’d like to read it.  I’m really liking listening to the book on tape, too, because I’ve taken up crocheting (yes, I know, I told you, already!) & enjoy listening to something while I knit or crochet.  I started making a scarf that turned into an almost finished shawl, when I ran out of one of the colors I was crocheting with.  Then, I had the most splendid idea! (I think the “Little Men” way of speaking is rubbing off on me!…. that always happens!)  My girlfriend is getting married in January & I’ve got instructions for a beautiful afghan that I’ve always wanted to make, so, while I was out picking up more of the yarn I ran out of, I got a new hook and 6 skeins of Lion Brand’s “Regency” colored yarn (how they know what color “Regency” is, I’ll never know!).  It’s coming out beautifully!  I started yesterday and am already almost 1/2 of the way done…. guess I’ll be done by January without a problem.  Hopefully, I’ll get back to my shawl and finish it after the afghan is done.

hmmmmm…. shouldn’t I be writing my lessons for next week??  ooopsy!  Oh, now you’ve got me thinking about popcorn!! rats! ;)

Slow down, take a deep breath, and……………… (z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-zzzz!) — No, I meant to say, “pray”! I think I’ll go crochet for a little bit before heading to bed.  Ni’-night!

  • Interesting watching / reading material!

Have you ever read books by G.A.Henty?  Good historical fiction, so I’m told (I was once given one for a birthday, but never got around to reading it).

  • I should be cleaning my bathroom, but I’m sitting here catching up on everyone’s posts instead!  Are the movies any good?
