I’m Here!
None of our bags have arrived, and it’s been over 24 hours. Please pray! One of Dr. Mardy’s quotes this week is quite appropriate:
“We never understand how little we need in this world until we know the loss of it.”
James M. Barrie
The town of Reading is lovely. It was beautiful and sunny yesterday, but spotty-sunshiny rain today.
The internet is capricious, so forgive my terse post. More later!
Teacherperson finally setting foot on English soil (not pavement)
(Like the outfit? I’ve been wearing it for days and days now…)Our hotel, a Comfort Inn on Christchurch Road
The area where we ate lunch/supper yesterday (at that perennial British favorite, Pizza Hut)You’ve got to watch out for those humped zebras. I had no idea they were so prominent in England… (grin)

No new clothes! UGH!!!! I’m praying.
o gracious! Poor Mrs. Sellers! Poor ghosty…how she wriths in envy.
I am so thrilled for you! And a little green for me! I don’t believe I’ve ever seen a Comfort Inn like that before! or a Pizza Hut……
Keep the pictures coming, be safe and I sure hope you find your luggage.
amazing pictures!
said a prayer for you for your luggage. hope you get it back soon!
I’d say if they don’t show in the next few hours, its probably time to go get a few more outfits!
Hope your bags arrive soon and that you have a fabulous trip. And ditto to DandelionBall’s comments: a little green!!!
Praying for the bags – love the pictures!
Have fun!! Praying they find your clothes.
That is awesome that you are in England.
I had my luggage go to a separate place once and it arrived the next morning. I am sure it just takes a little longer but usually you get it.
Goodness! First a bear gets loose from an English zoo, and now humped zebras! -What are they? I like your outfit, for what it’s worth. I will pray for your luggage to arrive.
Yeah, you are there and having fun!!! What, no tea and crumpets, yet??? If you do eat a crumpet, please let me know. I’ve never had one!
Pizza Hut?!? Really? I can’t believe it. Actually, I guess that I shouldn’t give you a hard time…am pretty sure that I remember eating a place called “Chicago Pizza” on one of my first trips to London. And I KNOW that we have pictures in Paris wearing our Burger King crowns.
Hope that the luggage turns up soon!
Bah. My own experiences have convinced me that fresh clothes are far less necessary than commonly supposed. For that matter, shaving falls into the same category.
Just go shopping and give the bill to the airlines! That’s what there supposed to do when your luggage doesn’t arrive with you (mind you, you must purchase essentials like clothing, shoes, not jewelry or works of art!). We have those humped zebras in Trinidad, too.
oh man, thats no fun, I’ll be praying! Have fun!
Thanks so much for the videos!!
Libby
P.S. Miss you!
The outfit is smashing! Beautiful pictures! Keep the posts coming – what a thrill!!!
I don’t know if I can comment for laughing. Sorry about the luggage. Guess you’re getting the whole travel experience…
Hoping the bags come soon. Love the photos! Makes me homesick for Scotland.
That’s a Comfort Inn? Wow, it certainly is different from the ones we have here.
Hope the luggage catches up with you soon.
Hooray!! You’re here!!! Welcome to the good side of the pond!!!
For what it’s worth, I think your outfit is darling.
I’ll happily lend you some of my clothes when you swing by Cambridge… although for your sake, I hope your stuff re-appears before then!
Love your outfit! Looks like its brand new!
And your hair looks great, too. You look none the worse for wear, considering….. England looks like great fun. Hope you’re enjoying yourself & your luggage finds you soon. I never heard of humped zebras before! Where do they get that name from???
Yowzie! It is SO exciting!
at least you have a darling outfit…
Oh! Oh! Oh! I’m so excited for you!! To see you actually standing in England!!! I’m feeling vicariously giddy.
I do hope you guys get your luggage soon!
Have an absolutely wonderful time on your big trip…and you still look fabulous…even after a few days!!! You are missing a heat wave in south-central PA… Be Blessed and have a wonderful time! Susan
Hey, if you are going anywhere near Cambridgeshire, let me know. You can visit my penpal that lives there. We have been writing for over 24 years now and we’ve never met! I’m so jealous. =)
Oh boy, I hope by this time I comment your stuff has arrived..
If not, then I’ll be praying hard for yall to get it asap.. That is a very interesting hotel.. I would love to see and visit that.. Very unique about it.. ENJOY your time over there!!
What are humped zebras? I feel like I am missing a joke!
Well, the outfit is cute and you look great in it. That’s a plus.
Comfort Inn?! That is so cool! Looks nothing like the confort inn in our town!
