Hmmm…
LibbyK has the stomach flu. She proved it to me tonight at 11:35 pm. I have a bunch of work to do for math projects this week with Wednesday and Friday deadlines. LadyoftheManse and her family are coming to visit on Wednesday. Oh, what havoc could be wrought by this miserable, vomitous mass? (Drop. Your. Sword.)
In happy news–church, church picnic, baseball game, travel book on England purchased, 4-H banquet, finished first set of math writing, off to bed!
What’s you short list of happy news?

Travel book on England….it would appear from your background pics that perhaps you are taking a return trip? That is a life-long desire of mine….three of my six have been there, including one studying and working for about 9 months….but, alas, so far I’ve only visited in my imagination!
Goodness sakes? Is this your third bad thing?
Short list of happy news: I am going to go get a fat-calorie loaded breakfast shortly!
Ugh!! Hope that the stomach flu passes quickly and doesn’t spread to the rest of the house.
Our happy news…JJ is still sleeping (after 11+ hours!), our computer is supposed to really get fixed sometime today, we’re going strawberry picking with some friends as soon as JJ gets up, my family is coming from all around the country to visit us this week…maybe my short list is getting too long! Sorry.
I hope Libby is a lot better! It´s always terrible when the kids are sick! Be praying. Have a good day. Keep praying for my Purse project. Check out http://www.xanga.com/purse2007
Thanks.
Hight, weight, and vision is done, school is done too, friends are coming over, I think i’ll be able to swim today…
Yeah, that’s my “short happy list.”
I hope Libby gets better soon! I guess this is your third bad thing.
They’re just reading glasses. But………I never wear them….
poor libby! hope she feels better! And you guessed it with your clever comment: I’m at state theatre, upstairs room.
Hmm…well, I’m going to softball tonight. Poor Bibs….
Thanks! I like your new background as well…
Yes, I was practicing a front flip and landed on my head. The muscles in my neck are a bit sore and still but otherwise I’m fine!
Aww…stomach flu is never fun!!
I have a lot of 4-H stuff to do now that school is over. And laundry. There’s always endless laundry to keep me busy.
Thanks for your kind words re. my loss. My dad died back in ’95; Bikeman’s dad died in the late 90′s and now my mom this year. Sometimes I just long for a parent in my life. How ironic is that? Too many of us, growing up, just wanted distance from them.
The event is my oldest son’s upcoming wedding. (August) He’s 23, and just graduated from PSU. I have a 21 year old daughter who is a senior this fall at a college in upstate NY, a 19yr old starting as a freshman this fall at a school here in PA, a 16 yr old soon-to-be highschool junior, and 2 girls in 7th and 5th grades next year. Are you in PA too? I love the accountability, yet groan under the demands of the reporting, esp. at the end of the year.
I’m happy for you for your upcoming trip! Things we wait for are all the sweeter when they see fulfillment. Where all are you going there? I’m sure it will be wonderful!
Did you say you teach AP English on line? Who do you do that through? What’s your favorite classic to teach? I’m always trying to decide what to have the kids (my class of highschoolers) read – so many good choices, not enough time! Last year we read Les Mis, Great Gatsby, Grapes of Wrath, The Chosen, a MacDonald fairy tale, a Wodehouse comedy…to name a few. Good times!
Ah, and this would be no. three?
Excelsior done!
That could be enough happy news for a few weeks.
Tell Libby I hope she feels better; have a wonderful week!
My short list would have to include *many* things – one paper submitted for publication consideration in a nice journal last Friday, another written from scratch on Saturday which will hopefully go into a nice journal of its own someday, a third paper almost completed and in the hands of the co-authors; the very generous email message we received this morning from Cambridge; lunch today with an absolutely gorgeous woman; and the prospect of an enjoyable evening of church softball.
Mowed planted watered mulched weeded Done!
inside cool drink lazy sit ahhh!

Hope your dd is better soon! Have fun with your friends! My short list? I feel GOOD! It’s a sunny day! I am relaxed.
trampoline, ducklings, sketches, water, wading, jumping, eating, laying, trees…nothing out of the summer ordinary…
No more mastitis, eating chocolate, sleeping baby, nice weather.
That’s weird.. I left a comment for ya earlier today but it didn’t show up. Plan B is the best for me because I have a party I must go to on the 23rd. But I can’t promise anything because my father really wants me to get a job before I do too much more traveling. I’ve just finished my resume so I should be able to talk with this place tomorrow, so I’ll get back to you about this when I have more time.
Love,
me
haha, I might just do that! I’ve been enjoyinh facebook and all the people that are on it, it’s nice to keep in touch. But I’ve only had it for a few days and already I’m thinking “Is it worth it?”
My short happy list is:
1. VBS was a HUGE SUCCESS!! (which says that my worrying and fretting either paid off or was useless…not sure which!)
2. I’m over my sinus infection PTL!
3. I got 10 full hours of sleep last night
4. My hubby ran some errands with me tonight- and it was a very enjoyable time with just me and him ( or is it “him and I”?)
Ewww! Blue has been ill too!
S.M.- it is “him and me” Always remove the other person and whatever is riht without them remains correct when you put them back in. (I am going to the store = She and I are going to the store. It was so nice of her to bring fudge home for me.= It was so nice of her to bring fudge home for Sally and me.)
So teach, is that your short, happy list of things already done or things happening this week? I can see that some have been accomplished, but wasn’t sure about others. Not enough coffee yet!
RYC- We have only read the first one, but really liked it and want to read more. It sparked really fun discussions on good and evil and deception in relationships etc.
Have you read C.S. Lewis’ space books? I have not, but am a huge fan of his other stuff and these have been recommended to me for the 6th time. Should I go for it?
Libby, Libby. Poor Libby.
Short list?
My bathroom floors are clean.
Gigi’s loading the lunch dishes into the dishwasher.
There’s a nice breeze in our shady back yard.
PEACH book sale tonight (this year, I’ll be selling – actually kids minding the store while I find more books!).
