Fun and Kindness
I am feeling better today, although I’m glad I still have more antibiotics to take. LogCabinLady (who is also SG) brought me chicken noodle soup. Granted, it was a can of Campbells, unopened, but it meant the world to me! She gets a gold star for kindness. The kids and I went out today and planted the new tomato plants. I kept the dead-ish ones in the ground, too, just in case they live. Aj1965 shamed me enough that I dug really big holes and filled them with topsoil so the tomato babies can grow in dirt instead of in rock.Happy Richard Wagner’s birthday! He’d be 194 if he weren’t dead. Set aside fifteen hours and listen to the whole Ring Cycle (Der Ring des Nibelungen). Or at least listen to Ride of the Valkryes. (You’ll have to click on the link on the page.) Kill the wabbit! Kill the wabbit!
I’m drinking a Diet Pepsi Jazz Black Cherry French Vanilla soda. Phew! Just try to order on of those. It’s fairly tasty for a diet soda. Normally, diet drinks rank very low on my food list. We (um, Gockle420 and I) are distressed as Coke seems to have discontinued Black Cherry Vanilla Coke. It was quite yummy.
As you all are doubtless aware, Pirates 3 comes out this Friday. Our theaters here are showing it Thursday at 8:00, 9:00, and 10:00. We are trying to get a group of us to go to the 10:00 show at the theater by Lowe’s (if anyone wants to join in). Call me or email if you want someone to buy a ticket for you earlier in the day.
I’m reading a great book, With Malice Toward Some by Margaret Halsey. Kudos and a half to Ruth G. who got it for me and knew that I’d love it. It’s the journal of the author in the 1930s who goes to England for the year with her husband. [EDIT--and they take at least one side trip to Sweeden and Norway.] It’s full of delicious, subtle humor which has me snort with glee. “…to stand upon a piece of pavement which is being held up by the three remaining handfuls of Jane Austen or Edward the Confessor seems to me a breathtaking privilege.” HA!
Here’s a fun thing to do. Go to Google and type in your Xanga name. Click on Images (so you don’t go to a website but to the pictures). It was very fun for me to do this as so many of your sites showed up when I typed in “teacherperson.” Do tell what sites came up for you. Did I show up under your name? Did you show up under mine? Try typing your Xanga name into Google (the site search, not images). Who else shows up? The only other blog that shows up in my three pages of hits is hobbits8. Fun again!

Glad you’re feeling better, Mary. I did the Google search, but only came up with the multiplicity of places where I’ve used “Hobbits8″ and didn’t come up with any other people on Xanga. I didn’t look through all the pages though. We try never to go do movies when they first come out. However, sometimes that works against us in that we missed Amazing Grace here in the theaters altogether. I had no idea it would be so short lived. So I’m planning on taking the kids to see Spiderman 3 very soon. Then we’ll start thinking about Pirates. Sounds like you’ll have a *very* busy day on Friday. I hadn’t considered seeing Amazing Grace in the theater because I was planning on buying the video, but someone said one really needs to see it on the big screen.
I tried one of the Jazz Pepsi flavors that I thought awful–it tasted medicinal. My favorites are (all diet) Mug Rootbeer, Dr. Pepper, and Cherry Pepsi. Now I think I’ll head off and make the caramel cinnamon rolls I’ve been thinking about for a few weeks.
I seem to have a habit of posting twice quickly on your site. I should think through everything before “submitting”. I just read the reviews of With Malice Toward Some and it sounds wonderful. I’m going to order it from Amazon. I did try to exercise some self-control by visiting the library catalog, but our local library doesn’t have it. Too bad; now I’ll have to order it.
When I googled “Linaldawen” I got my xanga and yours.
And when I did images…all I got was TGD and two other really odd random ones!!
when i type rjdeohner, kid’s profile pick comes up….neat!!!
I’m glad you’re feeling better!!!
I am so glad that you are feeling better! If you can type the name of that drink, you must be well on the road to recovery.
I got your request and am wondering, have you been tagged yet? Surely you have!
Glad you’re feeling better!
ryc: I’ve never heard of a Sebo. Where did you get it?
I googled my site, and yours was the first xanga site to come up. Go you!
Hey I just read an article about a tomato plant killer swarming the US, it’s in CA, AR and other places. Maybe that’s what killed your plants?? You should check into it, not that it really matters, since you already replanted!
Hope your plants survive.
All I found when I googled my i.d. was a couple comments I posted on retrowoman’s site and a whole bunch of dating services!! I must have a popular i.d. for people searching for romance?
Gee, I never meant to SHAME you, sweetie! I was just teasing (my usual, annoying self!). I’ve never grown anything in rocky soil before, so, I’m impressed that you’ve done that without a problem at other times. I got a row of strawberries weeded tonight, so, maybe, when the lawn guy comes on Saturday, he won’t chop them down again…….. I can dream, can’t I??
I’m gonna go and call it an early night. I’ll probably read in my “…..something er other….. Homeschooling” book I got from the library last Thursday and only have picked up once. I finally discovered the “parent/teacher” section and they had quite a good collection of homeschooling books, so, I loaded up. I’m not the avid reader that you are, but, I do enjoy it. I just started reading Heidi outloud to the girls at night, but, forgot tonight. Such a sweet story so far! Have a lovely night and a beautiful morning!! Oh, and, Jesus bless you with bunches and bunches of joy!!
Glad your feeling better! Keep us posted on the new plants.
I’m glad you’re feeling better. I hope that you feel even better today, Wednesday
Isn’t it great to have thoughtful and kind friends? It is friends, like the one who brought you chicken noodle soup, who are the true gifts
Take care
Kill the Wabbit…you crack me up! LOL! Glad you are feeling better!

Sorry the links aren’t pretty, no time, have to feed baby~!
About the ticking clock….I’ve had problems with motion sickness my entire life. For some reason during my pregnancy with my daughter the sound of the ticking felt like movement(which it is I know….but I mean really movement!). Ever since I can’t handle listening to a clock. We have a beautiful clock hanging in our den but it hasn’t kept time for almost 15 years. Maybe that is one of my quirks.
My husband says we’re going to have too much fun when the nest is empty to notice. I think it will take me a while to get used to not being needed every moment of the day. I’m always amazed at large families and the moms who nurture them. What a tremendous challenge!
Apparently I showed up in your images search, but you are not in mine. I found 4 other Xanga friends, plus my own site, and a WebShots photo album I completely forgot I created. The web search brought up about the same, but only one Xanga friend and lots of pages in foreign languages. Strange.
Interesting thought. That’s very possible…and perhaps even likely!
I keep seeing parallells to Star Wars. Eragon = Luke, Murtagh = Han, Arya = Leia, Brom = Obi Wan, Oromis = Yoda, Morzan = Darth Vader…it’s kinda funny when you think about it.
The “you shall come to the dark side” thing is also in there.
About A Separate Peace, I don’t recall any toenail clipping. It’s possible that it’s in there and I just missed it – or I simply don’t remember it because it wasn’t an important detail…
Hmmmm, you definitely do it right. In my opinion, it is lots more fun to go to the movies at night. (preferably at about 9 or 10:00). Not that I ever have, mind you, or ever will. Although I don’t know if I’d be able to sleep after seeing Pirates that late..hehe. When my friend and I saw One Night with the King, we were mad that the 4:00 showing was considered evening….if we’d wanted to pay the evening prices, we would have come much later!
Glad you are feeling better! Enjoy borrowing my sister for a few minutes this weekend!
okay I’ll bring my newest deck (deck condition happens to have somethin to do with magic hahaha).

Umm, if there’s one thing
this Aimee is really bad at
it’s poetry of any kind.
The dumb thing is I usually DO use sunscreen. What was I thinking? That I had to get up way too early for a Saturday, that’s what.
Plus, I actually think my face was that red due to sunburn + windburn. It was so windy for all the games. High winds blowing in my face for more than five hours can’t have helped. I know it wiped the chapstick right off my lips.
No, I totally don’t cheat hahaha (it’s all magic, all of it), it’s just easier to manipulate a new deck.. and a good magician always let’s a spectator examine the deck when he’s through.
Love,
Daniel
I saw a public television show about a computer firm where on Friday afternoons, they played Ride of the Vlakyres over the intercom, and all the computer nerds would grab their nerf guns and emerge from their cubicles for a nerf war.
