  • Come on a Tour with Me!

TheTheologiansCafe will be having a video contest soon, and he asked yours truly to make a sample video for him. The categories are A Day in your Life, Refrigerator Tour, Best Dance, and Weirdest Hidden Talent. I wanted to do a day in my life (heavily featuring chocolate chip cookies), but my .mov files were not compatible with the video editing programs I had. So, I made this one instead.

Could I sound more like a Teacherperon in this clip?

  • lol  you are fun!  (and WOW can’t believe the famous Theologian has asked you to help him.  you rate!)

  • So good to feel like I’m back in the Sellers’ kitchen. Great video by the way – and I love the ending. Clever, clever!

  • Your video is awesome.  I would have just let them believe I had the cat in the fridge.  Haha.

  • That’s great!!  Actually, I think that video fits into all four categories mentioned… :)

The ending is great… For maximum effect, I’d clip two seconds or so off the end, so the sign is just barely visible when the video ends – they can always pause it to read it..

  • Oh, it was soooo good to hear your voice, what a fun video!  Rachel is quite the actress and getting so big!

  • HAHA, that’s amazing.

  • It isn’t working. :-/ I can hear it, but all I see is blackness. Then I stopped it and saw a picture, but when I played it again it went back to being black. Let me tinker with it for a moment and see if by pushing random buttons I can make anything happen. . .

  • It isn’t working, but the picture of “Little Miss” on the screen is quite cute

  • lol How fun – quite the teacher :)

  • Very funny, Mary! I feel as if I know you so much better now. Abbie will be quite relieved to hear that the cat was not harrassed.

  • What an excellent documentary!  You should put it on disk and place it in a time capsule! hahahahahhaaa

  • That’s really cute, TeacherPerson! :) I loved it! Especially the part about the rotten stuff…..

  • Wow, Mary! I can hardly wait to meet you. You are such fun! That was a great video, but who was the wobbly person holding the camera?

  • Hi, I still exist! And yay for Max! And I am kinda/sorta looking forward to seeing yall. Sike, I’m pumped to get to see yall soon!! (just two and a half weeks, ya know?)

    Daniel

  • HA!  I like the disclaimer at the end.

    Who was taking the video?

I’m holding out to see you guys for the P&P play!!  It’s looking more and more like we’re going to be able to come!!

  • But tell me, what’s in the freezer?

Hehe… great movie! It’s been so long since I’ve seen you, that this little taste of life in State College according to TeacherPerson has been really special.

  • Very cute! No one wants a tour of my refrigerator right now! ew I need to clean it out first! lol

  • You are so very funny, Mary!

  • LOL, LOL, LOL!!!!  You are so funny!!!  the cat, the note at the end, the jokes in between, the commercial for the salad dressing!!

yep, you did sound like a ‘teacherperson’, but hey…

    great job on the video.

  • Oh where do you find the time????? (ROTFL)  TOO CUTE!!! If it’s a contest…I hope you win. :D

  • You guys are adorable.  I’ll try not to call PETA, but in the future keep the cat out of the fridge (lucifur is in the toilet right now, try that instead!)

  • It’s not everyone that would make a movie of their fridge…very entertaining!

  • That was hysterical!!!! I loved it!! Yes, I caught that “the fridge is quicker than the eye” trick with the cat!  It’s so nice to see you “in action” and you’re even more fun in the video than “on screen”! That’s sort of a pun!! You are “on screen” when you write your blog  AND in your video…. get it?? (I think I’ve heard it said that if you have to explain your jokes, they’re not funny…… ah, well!)

I’m feeling so much better today & we’re actually having a “normal” day of school….. if that really is possible!?  I’ve gotten some advice from my friend Retrowoman (a wealth of helpful & fun ideas she has!) regarding my easily distracted 9 y.o. daughter for her schooling and I’m implementing it today.  It’s, actually, just as hard for ME to keep my mind on her schooling as it is for C.!  She’s doing all her work right next to me….. but, I’m getting hungry for some cookies.   I guess LUNCH would BE better, but, cookies SOUND better.   I guess leftover pizza will be my fair the middle meal of the day.  That will hold off the cookies until later……… hey, it’s Home Ec. day, too!! I wonder what we’ll make for that?? Cookies? Hmmmm. Maybe!

We have been doing schooling on most of our sick days, but, only those who feel up to it.  It doesn’t seem like there are many sicknesses that truly will prevent us from sitting on the couch or bed with our workbooks & writing down a few answers here and there.  I feel like it’s better to just keep plugging away at it & take breaks or naps as needed than to call the whole day of school off.  My eldest is so close to being completely done with school and my second will be doing some subjects on a 3x a week basis through the summer to, hopefully & finally, catch up.  Have you ever used Math U See?  I’m thinking about using that curriculum next year with my 9 y.o. seeing as she’s the creative/visual type.  I’m not sure what to use for my 6th grader, but, have been considering going back to Saxon, again, since Modern Curiculum Press seemed a bit too easy for her.  I have to go over her tests to accurately assess that, though.  It just seemed like she got done with it so quickly that it couldn’t have been hard enough!!  She’s been done with all her math since April 30th.

    Gotta go….bye!

  • yo, that was off the chain fo’ sho’.

  • Ha!!  I was waiting for the cat declaimer!! :)   Now, I will have to find out if you received any funding from Ken’s Steak House.

It was fun to hear your voice, since we are just xanga friends!

  • LOL..that was amusing..

  • Nice! *cracks up*

Looking forward to seeing you! Did you get my mom’s e-mail with the directions?

  • Can you handle even one more comment?  If I got this many in one day I would faint.  And I’ve never fainted in my entire life.

I feel like I really know you after watching this video.  I bet you didn’t intend for that to happen did you?

  • Thanks for the tour.  I love your cat!  I miss our kitties, -except on weekends. I have a freezer on the bottom kind of fridge, and thanks for the tip on the salad dressing, I’ll see if they have it west of the Mississippi.  Right now I’m enjoying Berensteins light Cheese Fantastic. It makes me feel better about the crispy cookies thing to see you favor a vinagrette style dressing.

I’m not one of those people who asks other people to put things in her fridge, it’s embarrassing.  We do have a very specific place for the eggs as well.  It seems a lot of dinners are planned by how many refridgerator containers they will empty and thus decongest the fridge.

My picture of Pennsylvania living was that it is so crammed with people there would be no room for hunting. It’s sort of a general impression of the East coast.   Hunting was a big part of our lives when I was growing up.

  • Oh how funny! I loved it!!!! Thank you so much for sharing it with us. You have brightened my day :)

  • Hey Mom, I didn’t know that you were a Teacherperon……………….just a small mistake.

    Libby :)

  • Can’t believe I missed this!  It was hilarious!  And yes, you sound incredibly teacherpersonish.    An important documentary indeed.

  • Venison!! Yum.

  • I see no one from PETA commented so I guess you didn’t get reported!  For some reason it stopped as soon as you pulled him out of “cold storage”.

Trinidad is located in the Atlantic time zone so when you are on DST we are the same time.  When you “Fall back” you will be one hour behind me.

Hope you are feeling better, too.

  • That was the funniest thing I’ve seen in a very long time. We love you, teacherperson!!!

  • haha – what a great tour and yes, you do sound like a TeacherPerson!
