  • Picture
from the afternoon. One of the boys twisted his ankle, so we took the
couch outside so he could rest in comfort and still watch Capture the Flag and Ultimate Frisbee.  I blurred some non-Xanga faces. They really are better
looking than their melting countenances would suggest. We missed our
    GhostFroggy, though.

  • Awww…looks like fun!

  • let me say that I missed coming dreadfully! Poor (anonymous invalid), though!! and football starting in a week! :(

  • I accidentally left my comment (answering your musical questions) on your last post…… ooops!

Did your teen gathering go well?? Sounds like a blast!  I love roasting weenies over a campfire!

Looking at your comments on my site……. do you ever get the feeling that you’re my the only one who likes me????? waaaaaaah!! (sniff!)  I think I’ve been a bad xangan, though, your site is the one I visit the most & ramble on!  I also think I may have offended some people with my strong views on certain issues….. I am somewhat of an opinionated creature!

Oh, and, I’m always in favor of taking a few things off our plates, so to speak.  I think your decision with the nursery was probably very, very wise!  It’s so easy to get “over booked”, ya know!

o.k….. I’ve gotta go……. this is bothering me:  B. & I are both on the couch, on separate computers, watching Narnia……… ugh!!! I really don’t like that.  I am coming into the 21st century kicking and screaming!!!! Bye, dear!!

  • Now that’s comfort!

RYC: Re: eggs in baking, from http://www.joyofbaking.com/eggs.html:  Eggs, as well as flour, are the structural ingredients in baking. Eggs provide leavening; add color, texture, flavor and richness to the batter. They are very important in helping to bind all the other ingredients together. Beaten eggs are a leavening agent as they incorporate air into the batter, which will expand in the oven and cause the cake to rise. Some cakes use beaten eggs as their only source of leavening.

The cookies come out fine without an egg!

  • Hey, we have a couch outside too.  But ours is on the back deck.  And will not be going back inside but instead straight to a dumpster!  It is slightly burnt and melted.  We got the pictures developed that Brad took before the fire dept. showed up.  Doesn’t everyone take the time to snap a couple pictures when your house is burning down??? Sometimes I wonder what goes through his mind!?

  • I just voted . . . you’re winning by 9 votes or so!

  • Oh, and yes, my profile picture is from my yard & it was taken last year….. no such blooms, yet, this year! But I’m very excited to be working in the garden lately! Yea! Come on, Spring!!!

  • Wow taking a couch outside…you really are a cool mom!  I don’t think I could ever do that!

  • …saw you on my site.  Good luck!  It’s a close race between you two.  I’m not aquainted with either of you.  I do recognize two names besides myself up there, but yours wasn’t one of them.  Dan and I are friends, but I don’t normally visit his site at all….most of my subs grimace at the idea of having to step foot onto his to vote, even.  I do love Dan, though.

You, for really-real brought a couch outside?    That is too fun!  I can’t get on xanga on the weekends much, but I do look forward to coming back and reading more of your site!!!!
