What an Honor!
Today, I had a Xanga message from TheTheologiansCafe. Now, this fellow gets about 300 comments a day, and he was messaging me? But, guess why! Here’s what the message said:
“I just wanted to let you know that you have been nominated for “Most
Engaging Site.” The voting is taking place on the left side of my site.
Your friends can vote once a day. Good luck. It will go until Sunday
Night.”
Did one of you nominate me? I’m so honored! If you are so inclined to make a few clicks, go HERE every day until Sunday and tell the world how engaging this site is! Tell your friends! I don’t believe you even have to have a Xanga, which is good for those loyal readers who are non-Xanga. It’s a computer thing with IP address, not Xanga name, so each machine is a vote, not each Xanga person. Bummer for us, as we have five Xangans in the house. What will this mean in general? Nothing, I’m sure. But, I’m still tickled! Ah–I went there, and it turns out the voting is titled, “Xanga Talent Writing Search.” It’s like Xanga American Idol, perhaps, except you are all spared my singing. Maybe I’ll get to write for TobyMac.
In other news, yesterday I did something for the first time ever. I bought a real, whole pineapple and sliced it up. Yes, it’s only taken me 37 years to accomplish the mundane. The strange thing is, I do love fresh pineapple, as do my girls.PS–I’m totally losing to JuliePersons. At least we’re both persons.

You’re 37…no!!!! I love fresh pineaple; did you know Wegman’s will peel and slice your fresh pineaple for free? Rob and I used to get it all the time…yum!
As for the contest, I am so totally voting!!!
I would have thought the most engaging site choices would have been like Niagara Falls, or some romantic beach. Perhaps the Eiffel Tower if we went international. I went ahead and voted for you anyways even though I don’t ever recall anyone proposing on your site.
you are officially voted for!!! go for it! and good luck!
Congratulations on the pineapple and the votes! I predict you will never use the canned stuff again. I have a great pineapple salsa recipe <G> (for you – we’ll cut WAY back on the jalapenos.)
Hugs!
mmmm… I love pineapple but I buy mine already cut (fresh but pre-cut!)
Good luck!
You look so much younger than 37.
*shakes head* I can’t believe someone didn’t nominate you until now! Goodness . . . perhaps all those years of grading timed essays helped?
I voted for you . . . and I’ll keep at it! And, isn’t fresh pineapple delicious? Megan and I eat it a few times a week and enjoy its sweet and yet tangy flavor.
I voted for ya!
BTW, your profile pic is adorable.
Wow, you have never cut a fresh pineapple? How have you lived? That’s almost as bad as the many friends I have who, as I recently discovered, have NEVER gone kite flying! Again, how can you live???
no typo, its actually Bim! Smurf`s been calling me that since…well…for a long, long time. Her sister, to me, is Bebbie.
inside joke….. i cant`t WAIT for tomorrow! i enjoy hanging with you guys so much!
I voted too. I hope you win!
Still only 37? I guess that makes me older than you! (By how many months?)
Voted for you!
And who is that hottie couple in your picture? Not anyone who looks anywhere near 37!
No, you didn’t make me self conscious. Your catch of my poor writing was actually funny. It was another comment that was really stupid that nobody caught that made me think I needed to take time off from writing. That and the fact that I was a single parent/teacher and had tons to do.
I tried to vote for you but it said I had already voted, which I had not and nobody but me uses this computer, so alas, I will try again tomorrow.
I am just kind of used to not feeling all that well, for lack of a better term. I think it is allergies. This is the second time that family has panicked and I actually went for tests, but both times nothing has been wrong. I guess allergies and hormones or whatever. It is not debilitating or anything. I just never had allergies until after Yellow was born, so a few years ago when it started I was like freaked out and thought something was wrong with me. Also my mom gets worried and that freaks me out. I think it is because cancer is so prevelant in our family. I almost lost a brother to cancer when he was six. he is in his teens now with no more trouble. And a few years ago my cousin, who I am very close to almost died of thyroid cancer and has since had more lumps removed from throat etc. They were treating her for athsma and allergies for a couple of years before figuring out it was really cancer and I myself about 9 years ago had a very minor, no big deal very early detected female cancer incident which was taken care of with one minor surgery and has not come back since. So I think my mom just gets a little hyper about health some times. anyway I’m totally fine. I just feel slightly stupid and a little dizzy a great deal and have a lot of sinus and ear pain, but nothing that hurts my life or anything. I think having a cold for a month aggravated it, but whatever. Everything is fine.
Are you all well and good?
After I voted, you’re tied with Juliepersons!
I hate cutting up fresh pineapple, but nothing else tastes as good! I like your profile pic. Very nice.
Now that is very cool! How long have you been blogging? I must go vote! Best of luck, chick! (37 is definitely still a chick, I think
)
you’re going to win… I’ve got my people working on it (in other words, my sister’s site and my brother’s site are also voting for you now).
It’s midnight, I voted agian. I think tomorrow I’ll go to the library and vote on all their computers…I want you to win!!!!
I like your new profile pic!
Congrats on the nomination. God b.ess you.
c.
Congradulations
I hope you win, have a great day!
As of my vote you were leading with 20% of the vote!
Yea, you’re winning. BTW, I’m 10 years older than you and I’ve never sliced a pineapple. I think I tried once and then gave up and had my Beloved or my Mommy take over for me. I buy the pretrimmed and cored, fresh pineapple but not whole ones.
Aye, you’re winning. You have, at present, 21% of the votes.
I voted too… I always did think you were an engaging writer.
Hey, we have some friends who lived in Hawaii several years and they said to put a little salt on your fresh pineapple. Surprisingly, it brings out the sweetness in the pineapple. Yummy!! Making my mouth water as we speak….
I “messaged” you a question, but, you answered it last night…. I just hadn’t read it, yet. I voted for you yesterday! Haven’t visited The TheologiansCafe, today, but, will later to see if you’re still neck-&-neck!! Rjdohner’s idea had crossed my mind as well…. but I doubt we’ll get to the library today!
Yummy!! I love fresh pineapple! It’s been years since I cut one up, though!
Off to do our Bible Study!
How very funny… I subscribe to both of you. Juliepersons always blogs about organic gardening and her visits to Paris and fabulous things like that. Very similar to your site (
)
I just voted this morning and you’re still winning.. 22% WooHoo!! Congrats to you!
RYC:*LOL* WE USE TEACHING TEXTBOOKS!!! (rotfl) Just imagine if we were completely on our won. :sigh
