  • Snow Fever

We finally have enough snow to cover all the grass. Huzzah!  I spent the day at my mom’s, helping her with her digital camera and computer and various other things.  I was grateful to have arrived home safely tonight: the roads were a mess.

TGD is sporting a 101.5 fever and is safely NyQuilled and asleep in bed.  Who will be the next victim?  Perhaps none of us. One can only hope, although my schedule is fairly clear for the next week, so a violent illness wouldn’t be too disruptive.

I don’t know if you like hip-hop or rap, but if you do, here’s a fun song about the Bill of Rights. It’s from Hip-Hop History by Flocabulary.  My kids love the CD, and I don’t mind it either.

So, is anyone planning a big Super Bowl event?

  • I wouldn’t say we’re planning a big Super Bowl event, but our favorite team (the Bears) is playing in it for the first time in twenty years, so we’ll definitely be watching.

  • oops haha i thought i deleted that!

  • Snow sounds lovely!  I’m hoping to show some to the kids someday soon.

    That book sounds interesting.

Hope no one else gets sick and TGD gets well soon.

  • zojoandcompany left a question for you on my site.  So did you make up the poodle song you clever girl you?  It cracked my kids up!

  • We’re not superbowl fans, so I will probably watch movies. I know, how boring!! lol

    God bless you Mary.

  • The kids and dogs were playing in the snow yesterday.

Hope nobody else gets sick.  There seems to be something going around again.

Not sure about the super bowl yet, probably not.  Are you planning something big?

  • We’ve formed a small leper colony here. I’ve missed work two days now. I’ll probably go to someone’s house for the superbowl.

  • “who will be the next victim?”  lol   what a funny way to see it!  i hope noone else gets sick though.  i LOVE hip-hop (much to my hubby’s sorrow) and we are currently studying the constitution…so thanks for the link!

  • Hope that the rest of you stay healthy!  Enjoy the snow…we finally have a little out here too.

  • It’s snowing here this morning. Lazy flakes drifting down. Just enough to coat the cars & roads & add a little to what’s covering our grass. I took some pics of our backyard with Dara’s digital camera– I’ll have to see if I can upload them onto Xanga (I know she’s been having trouble doing that lately). Super Bowl? My older 2 are going to miss the big gala at our sending church. I thought about doing something similar (on a much smaller scale!) here at home for the youth, but I don’t think my house could handle it this year. Maybe next year I can put more thought into it! So, I guess it will just be us this year. Hope everyone else stays healthy!

  • I work for my dad, who owns his own screenprinting & graphic arts business, and it is on the same property as our house.  But the cats live in the shop, since my mom is allergic to them (and that’s where they first showed up anyway… since in the spring and summer we usually leave the large bay door open to enjoy the weather.  So they pretty much walked right in.).  It’s also pretty nice to be able to walk to work every day.

  • Superbowl…we’ve waited 22 years for this…so we’re having over my parents, my sister and we’re going to party with the Bears!

  • pah! knowing stan, he’ll wont even notice anything amiss…

  • Mary,

I can’t wait to go to historical Glendale on Friday. We’ve been meaning to do this for months. It’s hard to get out and do things as a family. Sometimes I have to stomped my foot down and say we’re going! LOL. God bless you.

  • AND here I thought I was the only mother who used HUZZAH in this century!!!! (LOL) I say it all the time! :)

HA! A superbowl party??? Not hardly…last year was the first year I was actually aware of the superbowl on the day it was played. LOL. We’re not big football folks, I guess. :)

Hope your little guys feel better!

  • Yay for snow! Ours is long gone. :-/

  • RYC:  Thanks so much!  Have you tried Cold MD?  It’s supposed to increase your immune activity x3.

  • my big superbowl plans: work as fast as my little self can [I work at a pizzeria, and super bowl sunday is INSANITY at its best. (or worse?)] haha!

  • We are still waiting for our snow–maybe tomorrow night!  We are having a super bowl party complete with brats, potstickers, meatballs, salad : )  and friends who won’t mind watching the game along with a 3 year old and an infant.  I am cheering for the Belts (Bears/Colts).  This is the first time that I really like both of the teams–class act players and coaches.  Hope TGD feels better.  TMK

  • I meant Mansfield Park, have no idea why I said place?  Am I kicked off of the Jane blog ring?!

Charles Shaw is a hero of mine.  They make very cheap wine that tastes like medium priced wine and was actaully picked in blind taste tests over ones that cost quite a bit more.  It is not for say my brother, who has very discriminating taste in wine, but then again he is not a stay at home mom on my budget!

For many years I had a “Charles Shaw for President” sticker on my mini-van.

  • We are having snow today also–it started at 11 am and still going.

We do not watch television on the Sabbath, but we do plan to tape the game.  We are Bears fans!

David has a few pictures of models/dioramas on his blog, but they are way, way, back.  He and Josh are pretty good at it.

  • New xanga friends are the next best thing to major life change.  How’s that?

  • Haha! Stephen and I often talk about economics . . . what’s the main problem here? Unemployment? Inflation? What in the world is the difference between modern Keynesians and traditional keynesians and their view on monetary policy? More often than not, we start discussing what the giraffe says in “Old MacDonald Had a Farm.”

I hope the rest of your are still feeling chipper!

  • I love snow! I’m glad you are able to enjoy it too :)
No, nothing really planned for the Super Bowl, but I’m sure that the “men folk” will watch it here, lol.
