Good News!
Baby Brie’s fever is down, and they are suspecting VUR, which is what my own Little Miss had. It is a condition where the ureters don’t connect quite right to the bladder and urine refluxes toward the kidney causing urinary tract infections. This isn’t definite, but it is a much better diagnosis than meningitis! Thanks for the prayers you have sent up on her behalf and for any others you still plan to pray.
Well, well. How did it get to be Friday already? I feel like I’m still not on top of things this homeschool year. The kids are all doing their work, projects are being completed, but I just feel as if I’m not doing my part. Strange.Tomorrow, The Hunter and TGD head to Palmyra, PA, for a shooting match. This will be Hunter’s first of the year. Oh, boy. I get to sit in a ski lodge from 12 to 5 as the Youth Group indoor chaperone and bag-watcher. The rest will be tubing (except Little Miss who will spend the day at a friend’s house). Ah, five hours to sit and read and play the occasional board game. Life sounds pretty good!
I know many of you are avid readers and movie watchers. Imagine that this weekend you had the opportunity to switch places with any character in any movie or book (but just for this weekend). Which one would you choose? If I had to switch forever, I’d pick very differently than for just a weekend jaunt. Would I like to be Thursday Next? Guinevere? Trinity? Ada Monroe? So many choices. Which do you choose?EDIT–Long, but so funny! George Lucas in Love

What an intriguing thought! Hhmm…who would I be? I will have to think on this a bit. I have a few choices in mind…
Also, I am so glad that the baby is doing better. I’ve been praying for her this morning. It’s good to read the update. Thanks for posting it.
I would choose anyone who went to Steubenville to visit his/her friends this weekend, ’cause I REALLY wish I were there!!!
I am in Alpha Phi. I looooove it!!!
If I had to pick a movie character to be for a weekend, it’d probabaly be someone like Jack Aubrey or William Wallace, though since the latter is an historical figure I suppose he doesn’t really count. There’s also Jeremiah Johnson, possibly James Norrington, and if these others weren’t available, I would have to settle for A&E’s John Silver.
Books: Well, there’s Amyas Leigh, Aragorn II, Shakespeare’s Henry V (though his being in a play may render him disqualified), Sir Wilfred of Ivanhoe, Will Scarlet, a few of King Arthur’s Knights, Caspian X, Aiais son of Telamon, though his being pagan is a major drawback, even for one weekend; it would also be rather fun being Vincent Crummles. I could go on, but I’ll stop there for now.
That is good news about Baby Brie. RYC: Yes, that Bible quote is the one I thought of too. “sh” is the library sound and “ch” is the train sound around here.
You will not be the only one sitting in the lodge. Kim broke her wrist in 3 places today skiing!
But she is excited about spending that much time with you, she says. She hopes her friends come in the lodge every now and then to see her. We are not too happy about her second broken arm in 11 months. Go, Kim!!
I wouldn’t mind being Aragorn at the battle of Pelennor Fields.
Well, since the new James Bond now drives a Ford, and since I will spend a very good percentage of my day tomorrow in my Taurus with The Hunter, it would have to be James Bond. But this is my choice only if I can pick the Bond girl…
There are so many characters to choose from where would I begin, LOL. God bless you and have a great weekend.
Glad to hear the baby is doing better, will still keep her in prayers. I will have to think on the character a bit more. Hmmm.
Glad to hear that the baby is doing better. I’ll be praying.
I don’t know what character I would pick, but I think I would like to live back in Bible times to see what it was like, when Jesus was here. That would only be for a weekend though, because I love my modern bathroom and kitchen! =)
i know! ive been practicing!
Snow tubing sounds fun! I’d also like to spend time warming up in the lodge!!! lol
I’d have to sit & think about who I’d want to be for a while. But I think I’m content being me & being with my own family.
Mary,
RYC: Strangeland and believe me it was strange.
Magneto… for a weekend.. not forever (he’s so old…).
How about Lucy in Voyage of the Dawn Treader when the water became sweet? (Just for the weekend though)
