  • Christmas!

On the second day of Christmas, my true love gave to me…many pictures of Christmas day!

I hope that you had a wonderful Christmas and are still finding lots of time to relax and enjoy yourselves. We had a delightful time, even though David woke up feeling very sick Christmas morning. No one likes to be in painful tears before opening presents, but Advil worked its magic, and we were back on the road to a happy day.

The first picture is of Sibling Night, which was last Tuesday.  I have pictures of Christmas morning, but I like this one better.

We opened presents at our house and then headed to my mom’s house where we had our usual lunch of ham, cornflake potatoes (mmmm!), and crescent rolls.  Although we got so many wonderful presents, I won’t fatigue you with all the gifts. Here’s a pictorial representative sample.

David got an Ipod. (So did the Hunter.)

Here’s the mighty hunter with his quarry, a Snapalope.  (My mom made it. She’s cool.)

Lovely LibbyK models a shirt that her brother got her at Disney. It’s another Sibling Night shot, but I didn’t think anyone would mind.

LoeschDogg may be a bloody-toe athlete, but I’ve got a Mathlete!

My mom got me this pie plate. Er, pi plate.  She also got me a Jane Austen stuffed doll, and you can see Jane and me in my bio picture.

Michael got two new Gameboy games, so he spent most of his time at my mom’s house taking advantage of the “no time limit” playing time.

Rachel was thrilled to pieces to get American Girl Doll Bitty Baby Twins and a double stroller. She named them Daniel and Sarah.

This afternoon, we packed up the presents and our diseases and came home. David is still coughing badly, although the fever seems to be gone. Rachel is now coughing, and I’m still going strong, too. Thankfully, I feel just fine. We enjoyed ourselves and watched Sahara tonight. I’d seen it before, and it contains one of my favorite lines of all movies, but the line is in the deleted scenes.  If I can quote it correctly, it’s, “You know, I’ve been thinking about the funny part. We’re oceanographers, and we’re probably going to die in the desert chained to truck parts.  So, when they write our obituary, that will be the funny part.” (It’s much better spoken. Really, it is. I promise.)

Tomorrow, Libby, my mom, and I are going shopping again! This time it will be to return the “don’t wants” and “don’t fits” and spend the $30 coupon I got at Kohl’s (clothing store) which expires in a week.

What fun plans do you have for the rest of your Christmas break?

  • I like your new profile pic better than the last one.

  • Sahara is a good movie. I’ve read most of Clive Cussler’s books and Sahara and Inca Gold are my favorites. God bless you.

  • That pie plate is the ultimate in nerdy, but so useful too. Love the Mathlete shirt too.  Everybody “looks” well.  It looks like a very fun place to be Christmas week.  The remedy I was going to tell you about is drosera rotundiflora.  It’s a homeopathic preparation of some marsh plant. It really seemed to work one time and I took it with Pycnogenol, (pine bark and grape seed, an immune boosting herbal prep. available at Costco and health food stores.

  • I do want to warn you that some Christians do stay away from homeopathic remedies,  It’s wierd how they work, and some see it as not spiritually right.  I think it’s based on physiological principles we don’t fully know yet. They are made mostly by machines now.

  • We will look for you at the Altoona Mall! Have a great day of shopping! Looks like a really great Christmas. Poor David–I will pray he gets better very soon (and all of your coughs).

  • The sidekick in Sahara was great.

  • Sounds like you had a wonderful Christmas — despite the coughing!

(As a side note, mamaglop’s suggestion for the cough is a good one. I’m a huge homeopathic remedy user and just treat it like I would any other medicine. To my knowledge, they are all made by machine nowadays (especially the most common ones found in the little blue tubes by Boiron). Julia even takes them like a little pro for her teething, and they do help quite a bit. Just a thought for you.)

And, I think (ok, I know) that Nathan is taller than me and it appears by your pictures that both David and Libby are as well. Possibly Michael, too. I wonder if there’s a little blue tube remedy for growing . . . but since I don’t recall any I’ll have to be content with my heels. (2.5 – 3 inches is ideal)

  • Love the pics of the kids……. and your Mathlete.  BTW…. where does one get a Pi plate?

  • Great pictures!  It seems as though that cough is going around.  I understand it is the Flu.  Hope you are feeling better.  We are still celebrating at our house.  This afternoon…the women and girls of the family are going to see a chick flick.  Tonight the whole family will have dinner together.  It will be fun.

  • I think the pycogenol remedy is a great idea to rid yourselves of illnesses.  Feverfew (for reducing thickness of mucus) and Echinacea (a natural antibiotic) are also good.  Okay maybe your sister-in-law doesn’t want your colds for Christmas.  Hope you have a great day shopping and returning.  Sure hope Brad gets a snapalope for Christmas too!

  •     It’s David! Took me all the clues to get it, though. At first I wasn’t sure if it was a modern day person or a historical figure who had similarities to a Bible character or whether it really was a Bible character. Silly me!

There’s a movie about Jane Grey? I didn’t know that. Is it good?

You guys look like you had a wonderful Christmas! And that shirt. . . Mathlete? Hilarious! (Although you’d never catch me wearing it. . . )

  • I have to say that the sibling picture is absolutely adorable….hehehe Michael’s smile is impossible to beat…I hope we’ll run into you at the mall today!

  • That pi plate is simply amazing!  I want one!!!  :)

  • Sounds like you guys had an awesome Christmas!! Thats too bad that Davids still sick though, I’ll be praying that he’ll get over it and nobody else will come down with it. I’ve got a low fever but it’s been happening off and on since last Friday! Yeah, I like the top pic of the kids, it’s a good shot! I saw some of Sahara but slept thru the first hour or so, it seemed quite interesting though, I’d like to see the rest of it.

    Merry Christmas!

  • Hi Mrs. Sellers, I have a question or two for you. I’m just confirming (because confirming is polite n all that…). I’m planning on coming to your place this Sunday the 31st, is there a time preference you have? And should I bring anything (like food…)? And if there is any other information I should know about I’d be glad to hear of it! Okay that’s all.

    Love,
    Daniel

  • Sounds like you had a great Christmas.  So far I have only one that has a horrible cough and cold.

  • I didn’t know they made pi plates…your mom finds some very unique presents.  Where does she do her shopping?  She’s really creative!  I love Rachel’s Bitty Babies.  I had been looking at an American Girl catalog, but threw it out before Kayla saw it.  They’re too expensive to start collecting!  Right now she’s perfectly happy with her 5-10 dollar My Little Ponies!

  • Great pictures. It looks like you guys had a great Christmas. Have a great week!

  • I love your bitty twins. I love bitty twins too! I love your shirt girl!
