Today, I woke up and said, “I think I’ll just stay in bed.” My cold took a turn for the worse, so I spent most of the day under a thick pile of blankets on a soft mattress. Some of the children wandered into my room to do their school work, but I still got the rest I needed.
By late afternoon, I felt I should get up and do something other than forage for food and hot tea. This need was precipitated by the fact that the washer repair man was coming. (By the way, it was yet another sock and piece of a pair of windbreaker pants clogging my front-loading washer. HOW do they get in there?)
TGD brought pizza home for supper, and Libby made a salad. It was a tasty start to Sibling Night. We played Spinergy and Catch Phrase and had a good time with the opening of presents. Afterward, we all watched Nathan’s present, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest. We snacked on popcorn and milkshakes/Blizzards made by my dear husband.
So, all in all, the day was not so very bad!

Did you like the movie…Rob and I thought it was terrible. Hope you feel better soon. Oh and I hope you post some pics of sibling night.
Glad that the day didn’t turn out so badly! Are you feeling better? I hope so!
i am so sorry you are sick. it sounds like your hubby is spoiling you though so you will get well. lol …
did you like the movie? we paid to see it as a family in the theatre. my husband was not a happy camper…he felt it was basically a bridge to another movie…which he now feels obligated to see. oh well…the kids really liked it. my son liked all the fighting scenes and the girls just liked orlando. i find depp’s portrayal of jack sparrow amusing
feel better soon! (we’ll send prayers up for you today!)
sounds like a fabulous day!
That sounds like a great day (other than the cold). Staying in bed, pizza, milkshakes, a movie…I want a day like that! I’m really craving Papa John’s pizza now that I’m thinking about food.
Hope you are feeling much better today! You really have a talent for making something positive out of something bad. I admire that trait so much!
I’ve never heard of sibling day. Sounds like fun! The “sounds” over here? Coughing. I won’t blame your virus for traveling from PA to TX, but Kelsey and I picked it up from somewhere. Bring on the tea and vitamins.
I can tell if we ever get together for dinner, I will not be fixing anything with chilis <G>.
Don’t you wish you could do that some days withOUT the being sick part!!! I know I always romanticize laying around in bed and doing nothing due to some mysterious illness, but when I’m actually sick and HAVE to stay in bed & not get anything done, it’s like a prison sentence!!! I HATE being sick!!!!
A SOCK AND PAIR OF PANTS CLOGGING YOUR DISHWASHER???? I’ve never heard of such a thing! Maybe your children shouldn’t change their clothes in the kitchen anymore??? ;P lol!!
Hope you’re feeling better today!!
LOL!!! Where my mind flew to, I have no idea!! Of COURSE a frontloading washing machine!! (Just call me “Ditzo-woman”!!) I thought that sounded awfully strange & ….. impossible!!! (I’m laughing so hard I’m crying!!) Hope you got as much of a laugh out of it as I did!!
I do hope the rest helped. Do you still like your mattress then? I’m happy for you.
