  • I‘m Done!

Sing with me! “Ding, dong, the Saxon’s done. Which ol’ Saxon? The third-grade Saxon! Ding, dong the third-grade Saxon’s done!”  (If your Wizard of Oz is rusty, go here for the tune.)

And, before I even submitted the last lesson, I had this message in my inbox: Mary, [The editor of my project] says you’re available for more work. We have a writing task with a  deadline of Wednesday afternoon.  As much of this as you can take on will help us out a great deal.”  HA!  (Although I haven’t told them no quite yet…)

Tonight is trick-or-treating. R. is going to go with her buddy from next door, and the other four are old enough to wander the neighborhood in a clump without a mother tag-along, leaving me free this evening to iron pants!

  • Wow! Congratulations on your project being done and a request for another project leaves you feeling validated!  That calls for a night of ironing! :)

  • ryc:  that sounds like an interesting verse.  i will have to read that passage tonight.

    kudos on the saxon work!

  • And a hearty toast of the snickers bar to you! Congrats!

  • I’m glad that you’re done!  Hip, hip, hooray!  Enjoy your time without the kids tonight (although you’ll probably get interrupted often by trick-or-treaters).

  • Yay for ironing pants!  No trick-or-treating for you?

  • Congratulations!  But you pick a really odd way to celebrate…

  • Yea! Saxon’s done! So happy for you!! ……. but I have to agree with homefire!! Ironing pants would be the LAST thing I’d do with a free evening!! ;)

  • Let’s not jump to conclusions folks. TP says she was “free to iron pants”, that doesn’t mean that’s how she’ll actually choose to spend her free time. Goodness, I certainly hope not.

  • So tell us…did you actually iron pants!?

  • And also tell us what costumes you had running all around your house!

    *hands Starbursts to celebrate*

  • There! You were doing something right, they want more!  I was thinking you might want to do tours of ancient Saxon settlements when you go to England, or visit tombs of Saxon saints or kings?  I read they didn’t build castles, so you’ll have to visit other castles….

  • Congrats on finishing the Saxon!  Almost wish I had one that would use 3rd grade Saxon.
