A Fun Thing to Do with Your Face
Did you know that few people have symmetrical faces? So, if you cut your face in half and pasted the two right sides together or the two left sides together, you’d look totally different from what you do now. Try it with Photoshop (or what not).If you can’t be bothered, you can try it with my profile pic. Take your finger and cover up one side and then the other. Don’t I look different? I think so.
Also, some trivia from Reference. com which I found interesting–
The following is a list of some automobiles named after people: Aston Martin
(Lionel Martin), Audi (August Horch, Latin translation of Horch), Bugatti
(Ettore Bugatti), Cadillac (Antoine Laumet de La Mothe, sieur de Cadillac,
founder of Detroit), Chevrolet (Louis Chevrolet), Chrysler (Walter Chrysler),
Citröen (André-Gustave Citroën), Daimler (Gottlieb Daimler), Ferrari (Enzo
Ferrari), Ford (Henry Ford), Honda (Soichiro Honda), Lamborghini (Ferruccio
Lamborghini), Lancia (Vincenzo Lancia), Maserati (Maserati brothers), Mercedes
(Emil Jellinek’s daughter Mercedes), Opel (Adam Opel), Peugeot (Armand Peugeot),
Porsche (Ferdinand Porsche), Rolls-Royce (Charles Stewart Rolls and Frederick
Henry Royce), and Toyota (Sakichi Toyoda).

Hey, I read no SF in spades.
non-SF
Interesting!! Hope you are having a great day!
Now there is some interesting news to start my day! I’ll file this away for future reference (in case I ever get on Jeopardy <G>.)
Hi Mary! That’s so funny that you wrote about faces not being symmetrical. I’ve been noticinig a LOT lately that my face is getting more and more A-symmetrical!!!!! Part of the blessing of getting a wee bit older, eh? Anyhow……..hey, thanks for stopping by my site, and I wanted to answer your question about which digital camera I got. I bought a little Optimus, just because it was on sale (99.00) and I could afford it. I’ve lost 2 digital cameras on our farm. The first one I dropped and bent the lense………the second one, our horse Pete tried to eat! He’s very mouthy, and loves to put everything in his mouth. He also is the one horse we have to really watch out for, because he gets fat real easy!
My dad’s an orthodontist, and I’ve thought about getting him to wire Pete’s mouth shut for awhile, or at least leaving just enough opening to get a few blades of grass in, and nothing more! But, I haven’t gone that far yet.
Have a great day, and God bless you!!!!! Becky
PS-You site looks great.
That’s kind of cool. I’ve always known my face was asymmetrical, but never thought of seeing how it would look if it was! I bet it will be weird. I’m off to Photoshop!
I read once in Reader’s Digest that there’s a strong correlation being facial symmetry and the perception of beauty (i.e. the more symmetrical your face is the more people will find you beautiful). I think the article mentioned Denzel Washington as having a very symmetrical face.
yes, i did know that, and yes, my face is not very symmetrical. lol
my husband loves to do the photoshop thingie with the symmetrical face — we look quite scary with a symmetrical face, i think.
If you’d like, we can talk about the book and situation via email. My site has a “email me” button. It is not a subject for the masses.
I don’t think we have Photoshop….maybe I’ll have to e-mail you a pic of me when I think of it!
Hehe, that IS really weird. Great, now I’m obessessed. I’m going to walk up to people and hold a sheet of black paper to one side of their face “just to see”!
And yes, ladamedeshallot and I know each other through xanga ^_^
You sure do look different, but your face is tipped a little so one side looks longer, the high side with the bangs above your eyebrow, and the other side looks shorter, the one with the bangs over your eyebrow. Quartus and Quintus had great fun taking pictures of their classmates and melding them with a morphing program into each other. It’s kind of scary to see what their children might look like, especially when both of them are boys or girls. When that got boring, the morphed them together with pictures of a cat or something else like. All of it is beyond me. I wish I’d made Quartus teach me how to use it before he went away to school. Your described lunch sounds, ummm good actually. Is that a REAL Pepsi or diet?
Did you ever read the Beezus and Ramona books by Beverly Cleary. Ramona named her doll Chevrolet because she thought it was a beautiful name.
I don’t need another reason to think that I am weird! Interesting about the car names…thanks!
I assume you are referring to my comment on the Hunter’s blog…Comatose.
