  • Things I Did Today

    1. Woke up early (5:30 a.m.) and got two girls to their cheerleading competition.
    2. Watched said competition and cheered loudly. (We came in second, which was also last. Bummer.)
    3. Took a semi-nap. (I’m not a good napper.)
    4. Climbed on the roof in my pajamas and nailed down some missing shingles.
    5. Made spaghetti and meatballs for supper.
    6. Tried chocolate-covered candied orange peels.  Very yummy, despite their rather unappetizing shape.
    7. Made Rachel’s birthday party invitations–exploring in the woods next Saturday with 11 five to seven year old girls. Anybody interested in helping?
    7. Watched The Mummy with the older children. Forgot how much swearing was in it. Wished TV Guardian would have worked for that DVD.

And now, I’m on one computer about to write Saxon stuff while the good doctor is on the other computer, also writing Saxon stuff.

Have a blessed Sunday and a fun rest of your Saturday night!

  • Number 4 scares me!!!

  • It was pretty humorous to watch you nail down roof shingles in you flowery pajama pants…I personally had to chuckle… (And to add to what you normally say.) snark snark

  • I’ve been thinking, and I’ve concluded that “Saxon Math” is an ethno and cultrocentric title, offensive to those of non-european heritage. In order to foster diversity and promote tolerance, we should also teach Mongol math and Arab math, probably several other kinds of math as well.

  • If shingles need fixin’, ya gotta do what ya gotta do…I understand completely.  My pajamas are also all-terrain. :)

  • Did you make the chocolate-covered candied orange peels?  They sound kind of good to me right now.  I was inspired to make spaghetti myself yesterday after reading your post.  I was too lazy to do meatballs, but it was still OK.

I’m not a very good napper either, and it’s so frustrating!  I’ve been so tired lately, and I cannot get enough sleep to feel rested.  I often wonder how late I’d sleep every day if Kayla and Kendall weren’t around.

  • Were those your special shingle nailing PJ’s?
