  • Busier than a Wooly Bear on the Road

My apologies to all for not being more faithful in updating.  Lately,  most moments  which haven’t  been filled with homeschooling and driving people hither and yon has been filled with  work on the  Saxon  teacher’s manual. I’m pleased to report that I now have a contract and have made my first deadline.  This week (or by  next  Tuesday), I have the next set of  ten lessons and one investigation to complete. So, your prayers are still invaluable. I know they made such a difference in my being able to get the first set done.

The kids and I took a walk in the State Game Lands this gorgeous fall day.  The leaves haven’t really started to turn yet, but it was still quite lovely in the woods. I’ve heard it is supposed to turn icky tomorrow, so I wanted to get as much sunshine as we could today.

Thanks to everyone who answered my question about Xanga names. The answers, even the so-called dull ones, were wonderful!

  • I was just thinking about that, how some books aren’t that great for reading again, even if they’re pleasant the first time. To me, certain classics are the ones worth reading again and again, because there is always something new to be discovered. If I were to apply that quote to me personally, I’d say it about most L.M. Montgomery books. Those I could read a thousand times, still discover something sweet and new, and still love to death. And as is obvious, they DO become a part of my system and come to meet things with me!

Fiddlesticks. Everyone is making me so jealous talking about fall beauty, and here I am stuck in the desert and it’s hot outside.

  • I never answered your Xanga name question, because I didn’t see it. But, even though I’m late, I’ll still share. I’m a trap door spider because tarantula and black widow were overused. I love spiders! I cringe when people talk about killing them. I would much rather they be put just outside the door of the house/apartment/classroom/etc so that they still have a chance at life. Even in the winter, I figure that they have a chance of finding a way back inside before the cold gets to them. Anyway, trap door spiders are fascinating; ever since I saw a nature show about them, I have thought they were the neatest!

  • Glad you had such a nice day!  I wish I could invite you over for some cake! :)

  • Congrats!  Happy writing.

  • I think that’s so awesome that you are writing lessons for Saxon!  My daughter will finish up her last 5/4 lesson tomorrow. I stopped school a bit early last year and let them make some of it up the last couple weeks.  It’s a great program!!

Happy Autumn!!! It’s beautiful here, too! Cool, crisp, sunny days, but not much color, yet! Soon, though!

  • I never answered your xanga name question just because I have been “busier than a wooly bear on the road”, but I think mine is fairly obvious due to my “family’s” origin!

  • Finally a moment.  Almost moved into the new place completely.  We have to be all out by this weekend.  I will try to get some pics soon.

As far as my xanga name, PaBassWidow, your brother tends to leave me quite often to go on his fishing trips.  Therefore, I am temporarily widowed by bass.

  • glad your work is going so well.

your autumn hike sounds wonderful.  we have to head over to the “projects” as they are called around here (they are the wildlife preserve) where there are numerous hiking trails.  my oldest has to collect various leaf samples for her biology class–sounds like a good excuse to head out for a hike to me!  lol

    have a great day, teacherperson!

  • I didn’t answer because you already know how my xanga started. Anyway, you’re closer to the meaning than most people, but here’s a hint: There is no literal wolf. I’ll explain later.

  • Thanks also to you for driving Kim– it works so well for me! Libby had a good lesson today and we got a lot done. She is such a nice girl!

  • I think that it is neat you are writing lessons for the Saxon manual.

I didn’t answer you name question either because mine is pretty easy to figure.  I love penguins and I didn’t know I would have to register to leave you a comment so when I did it was the first thing to come to mind.  Like I said, I’m new to this, lol.
