Gee, Would I Like a Nap
Enough with the big font. I just couldn’t take looking at it anymore! The talks went well, although it was awkward for me to use a computer in the middle of a talk. I’m used to just lecturing–no power point or anything–so I was stepping out to sign up for a new Xanga account in the middle of a talk. (No, I don’t have a new account; it was just to show people how to do it.)
I really do enjoy public speaking. I’d be glad to come and speak to your homeschool group! Just send me an email!
The Hunter’s
15th birthday is Tuesday, and we got him a set of wheels–two wheels.
He will be the proud owner of a bike. I’m not spoiling any surprise as
he picked it out himself yesterday. I had to make sure it fit his 33
inch inseam legs. He was going to have a swimming party, but none of
his friends could come as they are almost all working at camp this
summer. But, his good friend invited him to a Phillies game tomorrow
night and to spend the night afterward, which will be a great treat.
It’s Sunday afternoon. The kids are playing various and sundry places, here and abroad. TGD naps peacefully, and I’m eating cherries while I type this entry. I’ve figured out how to eat cherries, but I don’t know how to spit a seed in a ladylike way. Any suggestions?Mary Bressler of Curwensville, PA

I foresee you getting lots of speaking engagements in the future– you really are an excellent speaker as we heard at the graduation! Looking forward to seeing you at Camp K. bright and early tomorrow morning with the 10-year-olds! Happy Birthday to Nathan!!! He is one of my favorite teenage guys!!
Maybe you should keep putting a napkin to your mouth and discreetly spit the seeds in there. That’s what I would do as a kid if there was food still on my plate and I didn’t want to eat it. We had a “clean-your-plate” rule in our house as a kid. So not fun.
Hmmm…can’t think of a ladylike way. Just spit them out!
Seedless????
hi teacherperson. i agree with flutemom…you are a good speaker. i have a tape of yours that i listen to on occasion. and i think you are a very wise lady.
we are almost done with preps for my july bday boy! happy birthday to yours! hope he has a great day!
don’t know what advice to give about the cherry seeds. they are awkward no matter what you do. haha. i don’t spit well at all, so i kind of get the seed between my front teeth and then get it with my fingers and remove it that way. of course a pile of cherry seeds on your plate and stained red fingers is also so attractive.
anyway have a great day!
Just have the servants pit the cherries in the kitchen.
